Merkins with nothing are always happy to share. Then you get wealthy socialists who are happy to share everything except their private property.

You also get some who give away 70% of their salary. I know a bloke is (or was) a senior judge in Sydney, and yeh he has a nice enough house (in Padstow, not Vaucluse) but every week he and his wife gave 70% of their gross pay to various charities. They're rare, but they do exist.

They're not comparable with measures that people are familiar with (i.e. temperatures taken in the shade in controlled conditions that are reported on BoM or the tv news), but it doesn't stop the media and others trying to make comparisons. Why don't they stick the thermometer up the umpires quoit?

I couldn't agree more.
Stick any mercury thermometer on a concrete surface in the middle of summer in direct sunlight and of course it is going to read abnormal temps. Obviously, this suits the shitty tv channels and their sensationalist exaggerations.
That is so far from the real on court temperature it isn't funny.
I can't believe that Gronk keeps posting this shit tbh.

If, on the other hand, the tv channels showed us an on court reading from a well positioned Stevenson Screen, I might then show the results some respect.

I’m basing my assessment on what I see people do rather than say.

There is no way in my mind that the actions of the majority suggest that we collectively care about ANZACS. I have spent a bit of time in the US and they appear to outwardly respect military and ex-military much more than we do.

Why I dont go to rsl on Aus day.

Last time I went was Penrith rsl i played 2 up. I give the lady the $50 as she was heads and heads hold the money. Tails comes up and she gives me my $50 back. I ask for the $50 she owes me for winning. It ended in an argument. She was far to stupid to understand. I never been back too an RSL on Anzac day again.

I have been to an RSL on a number of ANZAC days.

The minor cross-section of people that frequent RSLs on ANZAC day are not representative of everyone.
