Now there's an idea, why not do what the pollies are trying to do, any player that is eligible to play for another country should not be allowed to play for Australia . . . don't let a little thing like Aussie citizenship get in the way of Good For The Game

Going back as far as grandparents could draw the line, imagine if the Big 3 had to play for another country or not allowed to play at all. Then again, if the opposition asked for a DNA test it would make the salary cap 'evening up' the game look like pulling the pud on the steps of a brothel in comparison

Why not chuck in Victoria as well? Every player who has played the Storm away has at least been there.
The World Cup needs genuine antagonists ol' mate, NSW and Qld dislike each other more than they do any nation . . . Victoria already claims itself The Home Of RL, they wouldn't risk ruining the charade

Nothing else remains but be serious . . . good to see 'great' players preferring to play for RL minnows

A World Cup upset or even a close encounter would wash away memories of the mundane pissant cup finish to the season

With luck Cronk is waiting to see how well he goes in the WC to get an idea of how much money he can ask for his long term media contract. It's ironic the media that he loves taking the piss from will pay more the longer he prevaricates over joining

He and his lady buying a $3.5 million house in Mosman either means he's talking to Nick or Fox . . . the only real f**king mistake he can make is consider Ch9

Isn't it great, the Knights are set to give Brown a 2 year extension, Newcastle are determined to see themselves in a little world all their own. Works for the Cowboys, Storm, Seagles once upon a time

Not giving a shit what the opposition or Wankerland thinks has its advantages. Any player, hero or as yet zero, who goes to the Knights now knows the coach won't be blamed if they don't perform . . . nor should he, Brown has The Vibes

Wouldn't happen in the clusterf**k of Sydney where swap'n'go rules supreme, crowds won't support their teams no matter where they run like they do in RL outposts, especially Newcastle. It's a shame the Titans weren't half way between Brisbane and NQ . . . methinks Perth would take only about 5 years to become 'cultured'

The Titans should have a close look at the Knights, it doesn't matter where the team finishes on the table as long as there is a reasonable explanation. Newcastle probably have the most dedicated supporters and all Brown and the management have to do is grow the club in strength slowly. Novocastrians won't give a shit as long as they think the team is returning to 'culture' . . . a regular top end club

The Titans don't need Hayne or anyone like him, neither do they need a quick fix like Cronk or a coach on his last chance. The Gold Coast will never be a breeding ground of great RL players as is Newcastle but it needs to adopt the same steady-as-you-go approach

No better way than to employ a Garth Brennan type, something the Knights hope they have in Brown, give him the talent scouts he needs and autonomy in player selections. The goal is one-club players and a coach that becomes a fixture in the joint

Be interesting to see what Bellamy has in mind for Kasiano, has to be more than come on for 20 and fall on people, his ball skills were easily negated in that short a time. If he can get down to his wedding weight he may fit into the swing of things . . . after he takes a long hard look at the regime he may do a 'Champion' and bolt

McLean on the other hand has been prepared to go gangbusters for the Cowboys, the culture is no different to what he's used to and the NQ forwards will appreciate him a lot more than they did Tamou

The 2 player movements for next year with the most interest for me are Hunt and Watson. All Hunt has to do is play smart and the Dragons will step up big time . . . fingers crossed he grows between the ears. Watson will be a man on a mission and the Knights should reap the benefits, he was one of the reasons why the Roosters were the greatest threat to Melbourne

I'll be able to wander down and watch the Charity Shield when its played in Mudgee and other Dragons games to be played here as well. The home of the mighty Mudgee Dragons who play in the same getup as Mary's mob should have the joint awash with the Red V, they'll think they're playing at Kogarah

If you remember what players had to play on in the 70's/80's and compare it to the Glenn Willow surface which is the equal of the best anywhere . . . wish Rex was here to see it. Better to make a weekend of it in the wine and food award winning area, home of Day On The Green and Doctor Doctor, 3 hours from the Sydney shithole up the Bell's Line of Road . . . take the Gt Western if you like stop lights

Half the crowd will have to bring something to sit on until the NRL restores faith in the bush and full seating pays for itself but beggars can't be choosers. At least the joint is full of accommodation, there's more festivals here than you can poke a stick at . . . crikey, I'm getting all f**king excited, maybe the Dragons might play Melbourne here

Good to see the World Cup will be one-refereed, Gillett and McGuire have said 'one referee is a lot better'/'the game will be faster', not sure if it's their opinion alone or they're spokesmen for many players but it's a step up imo

Also nice to see David Gower re-signed by the Eels, he's of the same value as Kenny Bromwich and Mitch Aubusson, players who when they come on instil confidence are as important as anyone in the team

So who can we claim has been poached by the Knights other than Ponga, can't see many new players for '18 who can be named as letting their previous club down. The blokes that have been re-signed don't appear to have opposition clubs clamouring for their services either . . . Brown is covering his arse, making a statement and garnering interest all at the same time

Looking through the plethora of Tigers' signings it would appear Coach Cleary is hedging his bets whilst the antagonist removal is underway. With Tedesco/Woods/Moses not there to undermine his methodology Ivan appears to be replacing dead wood with more dead wood but I reckon he has a plan albeit a strange one

He may be seeking players that have been as disillusioned as he was, he knows he's a better coach than he was given credit for, his son has proven that. From his version of Battlestar Gallactica he hopes to find players that will thrive under his tutelage, those that have to be jettisoned along the way will just be 'shit happens' . . . this method is not unprecedented

One bloke I've always thought was not past his used-by date and poorly treated was Corey Thompson. The Storm tried to sign him before he went to the Dogs in '14 but couldn't fit him in their cap . . . must've been while Melbourne were 're-adjusting' to the real world of rorting

I thought Corey was a great player, which is probably why the Dogs disregarded him, he certainly shouldn't have needed to go to ESL to prove a point. I'd like nothing better than see the little bloke become one of the top try scorers next year . . . RL needs another Boustead amongst the high fliers

It's hard for a Storm supporter not to be jealous of the Roosters, not because they've always been the hardest to beat on the field but because they're hierarchy is near invincible. For a club that shares a toilet with it's next door neighbour the way it scrubs up is remarkable. If Nick had of owned a car dealership in Melbourne in '98 . . .

That said what better place for Cronk to finish his career, if the Storm is out of the question, than the Roosters. Nick may not deserve Cooper but the irony is way too f**king good a pisstake to pass up for Cronk if he decides to play on

Where better than at the club that can best offer what Melbourne couldn't in '10 . . . a great big "F**k you NRL". Must admit, it tickles me to think of it

We know the problem Canberra have is they're stuck with Sticky, he's not capable of creating a 'Cronk' when all the team needs is a smart player that when he beckons the rest into a huddle they pay full attention. The Raiders have no-one capable of rallying the troops, which is why Sticky likes to be within shouting distance . . . unfortunately it's not the same thing

Looking at the Raiders' roster it's plain to see even a new discovery like Cleary could win them a cup if not The Shield, Sezer is a dud but is Sam Williams the answer. Has he learnt to take command, relegate the Captain to kicking duties and the Coach to the back of the box

Unfortunately the Raiders are in danger of going off the boil. Fabulous Wingers, 2nd best #9, a 5/8 who is not allowed to play his 'unusual' game, a Captain who doesn't deserve the frustration and Forwards well up to the task may all go to f**king waste . . . again. If Sam is the man he needs to nod yes to Sticky off the field and lay down his own law when the whistle sounds
