Something that I don't understand is that you say paying 650k for Gagai is overs but firstly how can you put a value on Queensland best back and secondly how much did you expect we would have to pay him to get him to leave the knights? He was on 700k per year at the knights. Was he suddenly gonna take a MASSIVE pay decrease to come to south Sydney? I don't think so.
Well I didn't know he was on 700 at the Knights.

I just hope he's not going to be on the wing for 650k.

Sutto had a right as a senior player in our team to tell em to go direct rather than going against the game plan.

Well if you think we got cocky you should be proud of Sutto telling the boys to reign it in and pull their heads in!!!!!!!!

I don't think it's about cockiness though it's that some players didn't do their jobs!!!!!

Another thing is Cook needs to be on the field longer. We look quicker with him on and more dangerous.

Also the twins played well the other night!!!!! Tyrrell, Clark and Musgrove were no good and Fui was well contained!!!!!

Sutto didn't pull anyone's heads in. He literally was just being a negative twat. Sutto is a bench player at the best. The only reason his starting is because 1. We have no better forwards 2. Madge has no confidence in AJ as a fullback. The only reason we came back was individual brilliance it had nothing to do with Sutton being a negative.

Farah played well last game should of played the full 80. I think cook should of gone to 5/8th and Sutton should of gone off. Just let cook run the ball and create opportunities. Connor Watson killed it when he came on. It's not like Sutton was making any threats anyway. Twins were shadowed by JWH. Musgrove had to do a lot of tackling. Twins stats are poor.

I don't think Cook at 5/8 works. I prefer him at hooker.

I think the twins may have been limited in their game time though!!!!

I disagree.

We were running around with no proper purpose!!!!

Like Madge said in his press conference we didn't lay the platform!!!!

I don't think Sam had his best game. Tyrrell and Clark didn't go well and Musgrove didn't have impact like he usually does.

I don't see the loads of promise you're talking about. I do see a bit of promise but some negatives are there for sure. I didn't say all the players are rubbish. I've said we have players the are very inconsistent and not up to first grade and wouldn't make it at the top 4 clubs. .!!!!!!

Gosiewski, Greinke, Rudolf, Britt, Talakai, Burns, Jennings are not the answer to what we need!!!!!!!!!

You have to remember our recruitment and retention should be ripped into!!!!! Or do you want to sugar coat things and persist with mediocrity??? A giant stuff up was letting Brown go. We only offered him 100k. Dumb!!!!! Then Tyrrell and Turner are on 250. Other clubs near the top are making solid signings for reasonable prices and we are not!!!!!!!!

Why we re-sign players without making them earn it is beyond me!!!!! Sheer lunacy!!!!!!!

Also the signins of Kelly and Nielsen were a complete joke!!!!!!!

I'd like a prop like Leeson Ah May for example.

We need a centre like Dylan or Mitchell!!!!!!!

I know you'll tell me there is a salary cap and I know that but paying Gagai 650k is overs imo unless he turns into a really quality fullback!!!!!

We aren't attracting anyone really to the club either. It's a big concern!!!!!!!!

If Madge can't get us performing in 2018 and we are right near the bottom of the ladder after the first 10 games then serious questions need to be asked!!!!!!!
Who is the answer to what we need then? My point is that this isn't a game of fantasy league where you can go out and buy whoever you want. Its all well and good to critique our playing roster but finding players who are an improvement is a completely different kettle of fish. The other thing you need to take into account is that players may not want to come to our club for various reasons e.g. their family is settled in where they are. Moreover, it is actually very hard to attract quality players who aren't going to be playing first grade regularly as reserve grade is not what it used to. So when you take all of that into account, your left in one very difficult predicament.

In saying that, I do agree with you that letting Brown go was a mistake and the offer made to him wasn't what he was worth. I definitely would have kept Brown over the likes of Tyrell and Turner! Madge loves those guys mainly because of their 'attitude' but they aren't exactly up to first grade standard. With regards to Kelly and Nielson they were signed as back ups. I'm not too upset about signing Dane Nielson and he was mainly brought in to add depth to the squad and wingers don't exactly win or lose you games of footy. Luke Kelly was bought as a back up half because Connor Tracey did his ACL in pre-season. Finding a decent first grade halfback is hard enough, let alone a back up half. As I said above, every player wants to play first grade and with halfbacks at a premium these days the market is very limited. Hence, we are lucky in a sense to have Kelly as opposed to not having any back up to Reynolds who has had problems with injuries over the last few years.

I think you are way off the mark in your criticism of our signing of Gagai. He is a fantastic player and is arguably amongst the top three-quarters in the competition; he'd pretty much make the starting XIII of every team in the competition. I feel that he will actually be moved to fullback in our team and Inglis will be shifted to the centres of possibly five-eight due to his persistent knee injuries. I also disagree with your point about us not attracting anyone to the club. What players have rejected us because our club is an unattractive proposition? I've always said that as long as you are a well-run club then you will always attracted players no matter where you situated on the NRL ladder. We are a well run club and are attractive to off-contract players from other clubs and that is evident through the signing of Gagai.

Finally, as for Madge I don't think he is worth sacking simply because there is no one else out there who can do a better job. We are better off sticking with a premiership-winning coach then taking a chance on a rookie coach and ending up in a far worse predicament that we are in now. Moreover, despite our issues this season we aren't playing all that badly. The performances over the last few weeks have been of the caliber of a top 5-6 team. Put it this way, I've seen teams who have finished in 12th spot play far worse football than what we have this season.

Well we need better depth players!!!!!

Ofehengaue is better than Tyrrell for example!!!!!

Surely we can find solid enough players from elsewhere!!!!!!!

For our wing GGM could be targeted for example or someone like him!!!!!!!

There are some good back up players in NSW Cup for others sides too. FACT........

Lucky in a sense to have Kelly lol. He's a complete waste of time. I'd play Cook or Farah in the halves over him!!!!!

If Gagai plays wing then I think it's a waste of 650k.

We can't be satisfied with 12th.

I wouldn't call our performance against Parra a top 5 or 6 team!!!! We also struggled a bit against the Titans with 11 players out for them!!!!!!!

If we struggle in the first half of next season even more pressure will come on Madge!!!!!

You are correct R20--we have struggled against very undermanned sides & we couldn't knock over the Roosters minus their 4 best players. We haven't played anywhere near a 5 or 6 team!!

If we are going to win further games this season our best chance is lean more towards creative, ad-lib football.

I want to see us have a real go---win or LOSE!!!!!!!!!!! Let's enjoy!!

Can't argue there.

The forwards need to toughen up more though.

We have a few inconsistent ones.

Ofahengaue is a regular first grader. I wouldn't call him a depth player by any stretch of the imagination. I'd be very surprised if he would be willing to come to us and play reserve grade for most of the season. You say things like "surely we can find solid enough players elsewhere" but what you haven't considered is the fact that the club may be already trying/have tried to do that. Like I said, its not like a game of fantasy nrl where you can trade a player out for another in an instant.

Luke Kelly is not the greatest half in the world but he has first grade experience in that positions. Damian Cook and Robbie Farah have very little first grade experience playing there and I'd much rather have a specialist halfback even if he is a mediocre one than put a square peg into a round hole by shoving Cook or Farah there. In any case, I'm not sure what the problem with Kelly is. He is probably on minimal money and has played only 1 game this season and from memory did ok without being brilliant. With regards to Gagai, I will be my life on the fact that he will not be playing on the wing!

I didn't say we we have put in top 5-6 performance all season, I just said over the last few weeks. What has plagued us this season have been our slow and sometimes sluggish performances against mediocre teams, such as Parra, the tigers etc. Against the better teams in the comp we have actually put in admirable performance. For example, the first time we played the Broncos this season we really should have beaten them only to be dudded by one of the worst refereeing decision in recent memory. Similarly, we also played well against the likes of the Storm, the Cowboys and the Broncos the second time we faced them. Put it this way, the way we have played this season against the better teams has not being indicative of a team in 12th!

He wouldn't be playing reserve grade for us. He is an interchange player at Brisbane but we could start him over Tyrrell in the 10 jersey. I'm not just singling Ofehengaue out!!!!!... He is an example of that type of player I mean!!!!!......

Other clubs are making signings though!!!!! When all the player movement comes confirmed on lists at the end of this season/early next year I'll send you a private message of who Parra has got for example!!!!! We could've even done with a guy like Kane Evans for example. Definitely and upgrade on Tyrrell and Clark!!!!

The problem with Kelly is that it's a waste of time to sign up players like him. Zero point. He is a park footballer imo.

We will see what they show in the next 2 weeks!!!!!!!!

I just don't think we have the cattle as I have said many times!!!!
