Fans will listen to live commentaries after on Bula FM after the Fiji National Rugby League signed a contract with Fiji Broadcasting Corporation Limited yesterday. FBCL chief executive officer Riaz Saiyah Khaiyum said the new contract will see Bula FM providing commentaries on Fiji's games.
Khaiyum said rugby league was another on the rise after a successful outing at the recent Rugby League World Cup in Australia last year.
He said they have also offered $50,000 to help give live rugby league commentaries.
"We're pleased to sign this new deal with FRNL with the hope of promoting rugby league to another level in the country. Rugby league is one of those growing sport in the country and we're here to help lift the standard."
"People can now listen to live radio commentaries of Fiji's games from abroad and we'll try to give the best to the Fiji rugby league supporters," he said.
FNRL patron and former Sports minister Rajesh Singh said they are thankful to FBCL for coming on board to support the growth of such a minor sport.
"We're very proud to be in associate with FBCL and giving live broadcasting games on Bula FM."
Singh said FNRL hoped that FBCL would continue to help the growth of the sport in the future.
"We hope to continue this relationship and also produce more Noa Nadrukus' in future."
FNRL also signed a contract with the Fiji Sun last week and would soon seal a deal with a television station.
