The beautiful thing is that would count against THIS years salary cap and not be a part of their ongoing cap commitment.

In theory (according to all rumours) Poore (330k) Shack (170k) and Burt (??k ~100-120??) would give us $600k++ to pay someone as a 'signing bonus'

Example: We want to pay Lussick $250k per year for 4 years. So we pay him $400k this year as a "bonus" and he counts $150k against the cap for the next 4.

The downside to doing something like this is that you don't get the upfront $$ back if the person gets injured. You could end up paying someone a handsome sum up front and then receiving no insurance etc if they happen to wind up injured.

I have heard that in terms of cap space, Burt is around the 70k mark due to concessions. Which even those who don't like him have to agree that would be superb value
