They finally got funding for a new stand a couple of weeks ago. Don't know when work is going to start.

Here's a panorama from Saturday night from my lofty perch at the back of the Roger Millward stand

TBF I was actually surprised how good that stand is as far as seating and facilities go. If they can develop the rest of the ground around it, it will be a good 'un.

are you seated with the journos there?

Anyone know if saints are allowed to fill the stadium to capacity yet? Playing leeds they will surely push 16-18k

I doubt it will be a sell-out, they have lost 4 games in a row and sacked their coach this week, plus they are kicking off at a pretty stupid time. 16k would be a good crowd IMO.

Good crowds for Catalan, Leeds and Warrington.
The week before had some solid crowds for 6 of the games.

Save for the Broncos usual shambolic crowd, the crowds last night were tremendous. Though they should have been.

The Hull derby should have had a bigger attendance if it hadn't have been messed around. It was supposed to be HKR's home game but because of restrictions at Caravan Park they asked Hull to agree to a switch so it became Hull's home game yesterday. People who had no intention of going to CP will have made alternative arrangements for the Easter break and this will have affected the attendance.

Wakefield Trinity's attendances have risen by 10830 compared with the five corresponding home games of last last season giving them an average of 8276 per game.

That includes the Catalan game where only approximately 40 or so French fans attended the game.

Its amazing what a new roof and a half decent team can do for crowd! :D

Of topic a bit, but whats happening with the new ground? Its still with the government ain't it?

Honestly, if they got the go ahaead, are you able to build it? Also whats the location like compared to the current one?

One problem Salford face is there old rubbish ground was in the middle of a housing estate where all the fans lived, now its miles away and will put people off.

We've only had the roofs for one game and we've only won two games all season so the crowd increase is based on some positivity around the new ownership and a general feeling that after 40 years of being poorly run we are on the cusp of a decent era.

The new stadium decision is expected on or before 30th May and everything looks very positive so far. The funding is there but is subject to the Developer securing 40% occupancy of the distribution units that are to be built alongside the ports facilities. it's generally accepted that the Developer has already done ths and that the stadium will be built fairly quickly after FPP is granted and that Trinity will occupy it by the start of 2014/2015.

As for location, it couldn't be better for travelling fans as its straight off a junction of the M62 and will have over a thousand car park spaces, there's a free park and ride from Wakefield as well.
