Thread for discussing/shit talking throughout the 2017 season.
Friendlies have been played since December, some interesting results but best not to read much into trial form. Some fans could be a bit worried though (Catalans losing both games with decent squads...).
Wigan hoping to go back to back, while Hull, Warrington and St Helens will have extra motivation to win it after coming so close in 2016.
Catalans are on shaky ground - offloading most of their Aussie imports due to poor attitudes after an embarrassing late season collapse. Hoping to find consistency and if they don't they could find themselves competing with their countrymen in September for a Super League spot.
Leeds will be hoping to get back to the top end of the ladder after a disaster season, Leigh hoping to make a statement in the first year back up, and Salford hoping Todd Carney can help to turn things around after escaping relegation by a near-miracle.
In the middle of the pack it's business as usual - Huddersfield, Widnes, Castleford, and Wakefield hoping their new recruits can get them competing with the big teams.
Individually, the 30-odd players chosen in Bennett's elite England squad will be out to prove a point - especially guys like Tomkins, Hardaker, or Matty Smith who either weren't or couldn't be chosen in the 4N. I'm backing George Williams to take the Man of Steel, huge talent that will want to unquestionably lock down an England starting spot for the World Cup.
In the Championship expansionists will be hoping for Toulouse and London to put themselves in promotion territory in September, while Hull KR will be desperate to get back into Super League. And the big one - If Toovey can get his new Bradford squad to win enough games to escape relegation it will be the story of the season.
And in League One there's obviously the Wolfpack story to keep an eye on.
Tons of good stories to unfold, should be a great season leading into a World Cup. Hopefully the focus is on quality games rather than teams going bust and the fans respond positively.
Super League kicks of Feb 9 with St Helens and Leeds getting things started.
