Do you think Cini isnt considered given they tried to move him on? Thats my thinking but similar applied to Nrown and he got selected out of nowhere to play the 22 GF. Coach definitely keeps us guessing.

This is why I sometimes don't buy the talk that BA is NOT involved in recruitment.

BA loves his edges and loves to transform them into middles... off the top of my head:

iPaps, Murchie, Davey, Moimoisea, Kelma, Doorey

You can't tell me that the R&R just goes and gets all these 2nd rowers without the coach approving?
BA picks them into the starting squad too so if he didn't approve of them, then why would he pick them?

Furthermore, BA thinks he can polish them into gems and from the above, only iPaps have been polished

Did he really polish Papali'i? His defense never improved.
Plenty of forwards have had great years with us leading into long term contracts. Most have gone backwards once signed them.

He also played with JNR,RCG,LANE in the their ever best form. Matterson also.
Yes his form was great but do you really think one off season with BA was the magic lotion? If so why hasn't it worked on 20 other forwards we recruited. Imo it was just Papali'i golden year. Heaps of players will have 2 or 3 great seasons over a 12yr period.

Squad trimmed to 19, with Hands and Moretti the only ones outside the 1-17 retained for a possible game day call-up - the rest jettisoned to their Cup duties.

And given Moretti is named in Cup and Hands isn't, and they'll be played in different states... I'm assuming 11am will provide confirmation that only Hands is in Queensland and potentially 18th man (or perhaps a late bench inclusion).
