Draws released by the PCRL today.

Women's competition will feature 4 clubs and each team will play 4 games from June to August.

Encouragingly for the new USA Women's National competition, Utah will also take part, with the top teams in California & Utah playing off to host the National Championship final.

The PCRL Men's competition will feature 6 clubs, who will be eligible to win the regional championship, and the Jackrabbits, who will be an affiliate club for year 1.

As an affiliate club, the Jackrabbits will play a minimum of 4 games, however won't be eligible for the regional or national championship.

Each team will play 6 premiership games, with the Bandidos, Dead Pelicans, Mongrel & Barracudas all to play the Jackrabbits.

The USARL have this weekend announced George Tupou as coach for the inaugural USA Youth Hawks side.

Great to see George getting recognised after his role in establishing the Utah JRL. The first Youth Combine will be held on April 22.

Whilst not mentioned in the article, the URLA did previously mention on social that they had been invited to the European U19s Championship in Belgrade later this year. I imagine that if they go, it will be as the Youth Hawks.

Hawaii Nines:
Confirmed teams for the Hawaii Nines in October are now the Ontario Ospreys, Roots Rugby, New York Queens, East Pablo Alto Razorbacks and Los Angeles Mongrel. Utah will also be represented at the tournament, however its unconfirmed whether that will be club sides or a Utah representative team.

Santa Rosa Nines:
For Pete's Sake Pitch will host the tournament which will have Men's, Women's & Youth competitions.

All the California clubs have declared their intention in taking part in the 9s. Hopefully representation from Oregon & Utah will be there as well.

Oregon:
Willamette Valley Haybalers have started training sessions and have announced their intention to join the PCRL in 2025.

Club is planning to announce both men's and women's fixtures next month which will take place this year.

Midwest Rogue Runners:
Rogue Runners went down 30 - 22 in a tight game at York University in Toronto on Saturday.

I just wonder, oh wonder, whether all the stars are aligning and what with the (strategic?) appointment of certain Aussies to the USARL board, namely one involved in the 1994 USA FIFA World Cup (can`t remember his name, finance director I believe) at the end of the 5-year Vegas adventure we may see a credible USA Rugby League World Cup bid come to fruition. We live in hope.

It's finally happened, all the leagues are back under the one banner

Key changes:
The Utah RLA has become a full affiliate of the USARL (previously it was an affiliate of the PCRL)

Rugby League United (RLU) has rejoined the USARL competition.

The USARL South will be rebranded as the Florida Rugby League.

The winner of the RLU will play the winner of the Florida RL competition for the Eastern Conference spot at the National Championship Final.

New York Queens will join the USA Women's National Championship.

Their official channels all still say 13s. I'm hoping they don't drop that brand... there are Boston Bears in other sports, the 13s is something unique and has over a decade of history behind it.
Agree.
Bruins for one, they are a type of bear right?

Rugby League Planet is reporting that the Championship Rugby League competition is going to attempt to run a competition again in fall 2024 / early 2025. Not sure who would be involved... the Razorbacks and Immortals who were previously involved have jumped across, whilst the Provo Steelers have become the Provo Broncos and the Spartans are one of the other URLA teams.

RLP reports the San Francisco Savage, North Bay Warriors, Sacramento Young Tigers and Las Vegas Islanders no longer exist / aren't part of the new competition, whilst the fall out between the CRL and Utah Saints has been well reported.

Only leaves the Laie Rhinos (Hawaii), who only ever took part in the Nines from the original.

Not sure why they are bothering trying to setup something competitive now that everyone else has come under the USARL banner.
