Youth vs Established

This season has been shocking except we have seen some bright lights on horizon, the big disapointments have been the established players.

On the youth side

Feki & Leutele - have improved after another year
Gagan/Holmes/Brown/Politoni - Have came into the team and stood up they make odd mistake but nothing like the established players
Sopoaga - Even with limited game time is improving and looks likely
Even rookie coaches Shepphard/Morris - seem like they are trying to introduce new players and bloody ball movement

Established let down players

Ayshford - Disaster buy
Wright - Again has failed
Carney - On field and off field has let club down
Robson - Seems yards slower and kicking game well has none
Gordon - Tries but no offload saving grace goalkicking
Gibbs- Seemed like playing year out
Lewis - Can get fit for NSW but not us
Gallen - Seems that another all about NSW, this year seems less interested in Sharks he puts in but maybe just me but desire dosent seem same
Coach Sharp - Enough said

We bring the youth guys up expect mistakes and hoping for upside but for them to outplay the established guys, out enthuse them this is a concern

Messiah, unlike ASADA , you may have something. Stating the obvious.

But I do largely agree

Agree. We have to see if Flano stays, or if he has learned anything from his time away , or will Shep / Morris take over ? Are we are close to a playing roster turning point. The game has changed to a faster pace new younger players are hitting the NRL at most clubs including us.

The only reason the young blokes got a chance was because no one else was fit to play. They'll be back in reserves next season.

I laughed watching the Knights hearing Chris Houston was unsigned. Shark in waiting, come on down.

Fugg, pretty grim pickings. Must haves are centre, halfback and prop (be nice if Gal finally played there).

Centre - Beau Champion and Mahe Fonua for mine (don't know much about most of the others).

Halfback - Lui is probably the pick, but also a deadsh*t

Prop - fugg I don't know. Dunamis Lui?

Of the other positions I think Kodi Nikorima (5/8), Matt Duffie (wing) and Joseph Paulo (lock) COULD be ok.

FTR I think we should re-sign Tupou Sopoaga.

Agree. Plus I wouldn't mind seeing James Hasson back. Don't understand why he was let go. Heard he got a ludicrous low offer to stay. Where have I heard that before. He couldn't crack our twenties regularly. Granted he is no Petero but better than D Fifita, Mexico, Vave and Richard for starters.

Half back is a problem. Just have to go hard for Hunt or Reynolds. Whoever is deemed surplus.I thought Hunt was never going to make it but proved me wrong.

Centre needs addressing. I like Leutele but even less of a try threat than Pom. 4 tries is not good enough. Only ok if the other centre is 15 plus. With our cattle, surely Feki is worth a go.

I see absolutely no sense in getting Mitch Brown. He is reserve quality but no doubt will start for us.

Correct. Unless we go successfully to SuperLeague the pickings are grim. Given players who come to us usually deteriorate we are in strife. Eto Nabuli for me. A decent coach might make something of Sauiluma , so rule him out.

We absolutely need to recruit fast, talented outside backs. Haven't done for years. So never mind next year, I see at least 4 more barren years. That's a guess. I will never see a premiership unless 15 other clubs get stripped of points for exceeding the cap.

Cap'n, question from the floor without notice.

How many of those 2nd rowers could we sign and still be under the cap.

Well old mate if we can get some third party deals from Four 'n' Twenty or Garlo's we should be able to break open the piggy bank and get 'em all for a pie and a few quid each.

Just quietly, I see Nathan Green is in that list.

I thought we signed him after Drags gave him a release. Was around June I thought I read that in here somewhere.
