The world where he is the NZ hooker, playing one of the most important positions in a squad and many squads in the competition desperately need a hooker. You think he isn't going to make that sort of money on the open market next year?

Not at all, coz he just re-signed with 50uff$ till 2017

Kiss one or both of your others goodbye now.

Koroisau already spent a whole year in NSW Cup. You think he needs another? McInnes definitely.

Judging by what Madge has done previously, I think you'll find that Api will go back to NSW cup now for a month or so. He'll be given a list of things that he needs to work on. If he ticks the boxes, he'll get some time in first grade off the bench as a reward. Assuming Luke is not injured again.

That's how Madge bloods these younger blokes and that's what I reckon he needs.

Sadly, I think he'll be cherry ripe for round 1 next year for whichever team picks him up.

But my point is I don't think Luke makes us any more likely to win now than Koro and Mc.

And no, good clubs don't need to rebuild by going out of the 8. Look at Manly.

GI has 5 years left at least and we have plenty of up and comers that we can keep if we don't overpay for veterans whose benefit to us is limited. In Koro, Mc, Keary, Walker, Auvaa and Johnston we have a core to keep us in the 8 for 10 years.

don't overpay veterans? you mean like glen stewart?

What a ridiculous statement. Of course his contract effects your salary cap, by the mere fact that it is included under your cap! Or are souths now using creative accountancy?

Sigh. Let me explain it, he is on the minimum, if he wasn't on the minimum we'd have somebody else there on the same amount of money. His contract doesn't affect our cap space in the sense that it did not stop us from signing anyone else.

Actually it does. That minimum signing money could have been used on another player, be it someone else at the minimum, or to top up someone on high money. Tuqiri is past his best.

Tom Learoyd-Lahrs to Dragons ( possibly before June 30 )

http://www.illawarramercury.com.au/story/2298352/dragons-have-learoyd-lahrs-in-their-sights/?cs=302

Another big-name Canberra Raider could sign with St George Illawarra within weeks.

The Dragons are investigating the possibility of signing prop Tom Learoyd-Lahrs before the June 30 mid-season transfer deadline.

Having struggled with injuries and for match time under new coach Ricky Stuart, it is understood Learoyd-Lahrs is resigned to leaving Canberra and has begun the hunt for a new home.

The struggling Dragons are particularly interested, desperate to bolster their under-siege forward pack immediately as a season which began so promisingly plunges into freefall.

Learoyd-Lahrs has a young family and would prefer to stay in Canberra, but the 28-year-old sees the writing on the wall after being overtaken in the Raiders pecking order by young props Shannon Boyd and Kyle O'Donnell.

The Tamworth product is one of the highest-paid players at the Raiders, and his departure would free up more money as Canberra chases the signature of off-contract Melbourne forward Kevin Proctor.

The Dragons have an extensive history of recruiting Raiders players, and former Canberra stars Josh Dugan, Joel Thompson, Sam Williams and Bronson Harrison are currently on their books.

It hasn't helped them end their long-running hoodoo against Canberra though, the Green Machine winning the last nine games between the two clubs since 2007.

A forward swap is on the cards, with Thompson likely to return to Canberra next year for family reasons, having started a three-year deal with the Dragons this season.
