Was playing this game last night with my dad as we shot the shit about whether to re-sign Mansour or not.

It is 2016...(without knowledge of recruits) it is Grand Final week...everyone is full strength...what is your Grand Final team to be named on our way to premiership glory:

1. Dallin Watene-Zelezniak
2. George Jennings
3. Robert Jennings
4. Dean Whare
5. Waqa Blake
6. Jamie Soward
7. Matthew Moylan
8. Sam McKendry
9. James Segeyaro
10. Sika Manu
11. Jamal Idris
12. Elijah Taylor
13. Adam Docker

14. Reagan Campbell-Gillard
15. Jeremy Latimore
16. Bryce Cartwright
17. Tyrone Peachey
18. Andy Saunders
19. Chris Smith

Two to be omitted.

Not having a dig or anything, but I can't see what the go is with people wanting Manu as a Prop - Admittedly I haven't seen him play up front much but seems ineffective when he does.

I'm just thinking it would be a natural transition as the league is trending towards faster play.

That and him saying he prefers to play in that position.

Just goes to show though...even without any recruits we are still well placed.

We'll obviously lose and add as we go but that squad above is factoring in us losing:

Josh Mansour, David Simmons, Brent Kite, Nigel Plum, Matt Robinson, Lewis Brown, Peter Wallace

All guys who are starters or have played in games for us this year.

And just transitioning to younger guys in our system currently.

So think we are well placed.

I think Sowie struggles to make that side and I'd have Moylan in the 6 and possibly still Wallace at halfback. .

I think we will need to bring in one experienced prop this year, at least while we transition from Grant, Kite and Plum to Smith, RCG, Saunders, and potentially Manu and Anderson. We don't know if Latimore will continue his form through or past this year.

Realistically we only need a couple of props, second rowers and outside backs to hit their potential to have a very strong squad. The biggest question mark is obviously halfback. Hopefully Scarlett makes the grade and we cab transition Soward out for him in 2017. Hecd be 22 by 2016 grand final day so it may come earlier..

Captain is a tough one. While I would like deano in a leadership role, I think in that team it would be Sowie or Elijah Taylor

I'd be happy with Taylor as well. Assuming Kingston is out of the team at latest after this season, Wallace potentially some time next season if at all, then I think it would be pointless installing Soward as captain for one or two years when you have a few younger guys who can do the job for years to come.

If we made the Grand Final with that side, wouldn't it be incredible to see 2. Jennings 3. Jennings 4. Jennings represent the Blues the following year. Would that be a first?

No-one really knows what our front row will be at the start of 2015 let alone the end of 2016. That is why threads like this are completely pointless.

Not with his lack of offload or size. Defensively his up to it attack is his weakness.
Looking at Cartwright the other day, unless he gets too big and slow, with two more years under his belt I would be amazed if Docker can force him to the bench. He would be a great ball playing lock in the Scott Sattler mould (potentially to be a much better player than Satts, but lets not put too much pressure on him).

Yep. That was my point with dropping Docker from that squad. You would think Cartwright's strengths would stay. ATM he doesn't know when to hold the ball and not offload and doesn't really do the unfashionable stuff like hitups coming off our line. That should come with maturity. Docker's future is to bulk up and push forward
