There is no player born and raised in the USA or South Africa, who played his junior or professional rugby league in USA or South Africa, who has scored a try in the NRL.
France born, raised and trained Remi Casty is in a different category from the Australian trained "USA" and "South Africa" players.
"pure" Frenchman
I'll pay this. The first frenchman born in "France" to score a try in the NRL was Pelo not Casty. Also played professionally in France before coming to the NRL.
But you are wrong! Dimitri Pelo never scored a try in the NRL. He made 5 appearances for Canberra Raiders in 2012 and scored 0 tries.
"jason_taylor" was commenting on my omission of Pelo from the list of French men who have played in the NRL. He never claimed that Pelo had scored a try. Read his post carefully.
So all the smug, gloating Twatfaces and Digeridoos from north Queensland can wipe the smiles off their faces because:
On Saturday June 7th, 2014, Remi Casty became the first Frenchman to have scored a try in the NRL.
Dominique Peyroux is not, despite his name, French. He has some French ancestry but more Pacific Island ancestry. Peyroux was born in New Zealand, and has represented Cook Islands, not France, in the World Cup.
But you still haven't dealt with the fact USA had 2 tryscorers before the Frogs
I actually meant Clint Newton. Born in the USA.
Remi Cadbury is a delicious chocolate,The origins of chocolate can be traced back to the ancient Mayan and Aztec civilisations in Central America.
So this thread has established that France has underachieved in Rugby League in Australia.
Ian French scored 71 tries in 90 games for the Bears
Brett French scored 28 tries for the Bears & Gold Coast
