Well in fairness to Des, he is hardly going to come out and trash one of his own players. It is to be expected that the coach defend their players

The trip is disgraceful. Didn't even attempt a tackle at all with his arms.
I'd rub him out for the season to set precedent for this style of play.
That could have turned out very bad, Yowyeh style.

Barba has a history of foot injuries that Reynolds is very much aware of as well. The judiciary should account for that. As far as I'm concerned, it is foul play with intent to injure.

I'm not usually much for "bring back the biff", but it's pretty galling to see this turd prancing around in Origin doing whatever he feels like with everyone too scared to hit him for fear of getting sent or sin-binned. I really wish Thurston/Gillett (I think it was) had belted him at the end of Origin 2 rather than just held him down and threatened to do so.

He was given the downgrade after Origin One which gave him every indication that he can do what he likes.

The refs should be sanctioned also for not sending him off after the trip, it happened two metres in from of one of the refs.

It's all set up nicely for him to be on The Footy Show this Thursday. The panel will stick up for him & say what a competitor he is & he was just frustrated because his team is playing for a spot in the finals.

That's my gripe with the refs, the lack of use of the sin bin for foul play. The only side that benefits is the team playing the offending player's team in the next round. So basically at the moment a pedantic penalty for a player not square at marker is comparable to a penalty for taking an opposing player out of the game.

Use the bin, actually give a team on the receiving end of foul play an advantage not this faint-hearted use of the report system!
