f**ks sake jackthesnack! Did you see Moimoi play on the weekend? The Dogs targeted him at the start of the game and he was f**ked after ten minutes. He gave up heaps of quick play-the-balls.

Also Fui played as a lock rather than a genuine prop and Ben Smith plays that role better (he is busier off the ball and remains defensively sound for longer minutes).

Wow.

Surely Terepo could do with a week off to freshen up, to allow Fuifui one final (proper) home game?
Terepo had already had a week off , Fui has been one of my favourite ever Eels but no one should be put above the team. He was invisible on Friday night and not up to it anymore.

f**ks sake phantomeel! We want to f**king win this game. Sentimentality is why we've failed for so long.
Yep agreed, it's one of the reasons why we have won jack shit in nearly 30 years.

Look at the outrage of the fan base when Kearney had the hide to drop fan favourite and all round champion of autographs and photos in Luke Burt???? Sentiment get you nowhere, look at ruthless clubs like the Dogs and Roosters???

I love Fui and for a long time he was my favourite Parra player, but I have to agree with BA here.
Sorry Fui, we need the 2 points more than we need to say goodbye in a 'proper' way.

Thanks for the memories and see you on the flip side.

Sentiments aside we are still with a chance of the top eight. BA wouldn't have made the decision easily.

From the link above

The Eels have plans to celebrate the careers of Moimoi, Smith and injured centre Willie Tonga with a special presentation on Friday night.

An appropriate compromise IMHO.

More than a chance C. We win this Friday night and if either the Cowboys or Warriors lose, we are in the 8 by Sunday night.

Not to mention we compounded the error by hiring him as goalkicking coach.

Hasn't that worked out in spectacular fashion? He transformed Sandow from an all-time great to a gibbering mess in that department.

On Fui: great servant of the club, understand he's shattered because he wanted to play one last game. But hey, all the players want to play finals footy, and big Fui looked spent after 5 minutes against the Dogs.
We already accommodated his 200th game... Terepo runs harder, and Smith works harder in D.

Absolutely this.

If he wanted to get a send of playing at home then he should have retired last year.

Funny thing is, didn't someone say on this forum yesterday that this article would get written after we saw the team list?

So tonight at Pirtek WSW are playing some chinese team, then on Thursday the RAMS (rugby) are chopping up the grass with their game. With all this rain about it looks like Friday night will be a bog.

Perfect conditions for Manly.
They've grown accustomed from playing on that pigsty in Brookvale.

Had we been in the same position as last year, or similar position, Fui wouldve played.

We are a big chance for the finals and we need to win to stay alive. Fui unfortunately has been out of form and Friday's night match summed it up.

He's been great for us over the years, but time to move on unfortunately.

Anyway having Junior Paulo is a big boost for us, he wouldve been a difference against the Dogs.

Against teams like Manly, you have to play field position, simple plays, forwards making good yards, get a good kick in.
