It would be possible if:Less than 10k to a game. Geez if we want to keep games at regional grounds then we need to at least turn up in droves to these grounds.
It would be possible if:
1. The right venue was promoted online.
2. The scheduling was such so it really would be the 'right game, right venue' and not something where the best games were sold off to neutral venues.
3. The Club properly promoted the game.
4. The NRL properly promoted the game.
Some online outlets couldn't believe we had a Sunday afternoon game with google listing saying the game was in Wollongong.
1, 3 and 4 are easy fixes. Unfortunately, the Club can't even advertise the game out the front of the Taj... that's just the tip of the iceberg and an indication to me that they don't want us there.
In relation to the other point (2), the opposition supporters were almost zero. So it was all Saints supporters, and therefore a solid supporter base in the area.
You're absolutely correct that fans could do more, going to the game is a good start. But that said, we still had an official crowd number of just under 10K. We have a national member fan base of roughly 19,700. So you could argue that we have a good core of local supporters despite all the hurdles and club stuff ups.
I agree, there is no excuse for bad management and terrible promotion. That's what you meant, right? Can we stop with the f**kin excuses.

Right game, right venue... Good thing the Derby game was held at the gong and not Kogarah.Let's look at who we play at our home grounds (ANZ is not our home ground).
Wollongong:
Brisbane
Cronulla
Melbourne
Penrith
Kogarah:
NZ
NQLD
Manly
GC
The next step for our club is 6 games at ANZ, to accommodate all NSW team. Til eventually......
I feel the Club hoisted the white flag some time ago.The regulars keep supporting the club and doust keeps pissing on them.
The lower the crowd the better 4 the knob

Well said Mongo. The men that built this great club wore their bruises on that beautiful turf..
Personally I don't give a f**k about food & drink cues. I've been going to Kogarah for over 36yrs, when we use to get 16-20 thousand league fans there on a regular basis. There was a lot less amenities available, you'd be cramped on the hill trying to keep a bit of space for your mates to stand 'cause they'd be running late trying to get there after work & we would go over to the club after the game for a beer. We just loved being at Kogarah, nobody whinged and whined about the cues, not like the mollycoddle softcocks that won't go to a game today because they won't step out of there comfort zone.
And no true ST GEORGE supporter would ever refer to our spiritual home ground as " AN ABSOLUTE SHITHOLE ".
But perhaps I'm just one of few thousand that love the " nostalgic value of Kogarah " . I'm so glad that my mates & I have those memories. Memories of grown men triumphantly hugging fellow supporters, almost crying tears of joy, or consoling each other after a loss. We were at Kogarah, our home, the home of some of the greatest players to ever grace the game. To have it referred to as an " ABSOLUTE SHITHOLE " is an ABSOLUTE INSULT to the men that played there, & to LOYAL FANS .
You sir are a f**kING CHOAD !

Every time I go to Jubilee, I hear a different memory. Some are decades old while others recall something from just last year.
And FTR... all those who come to Kogarah are made to feel welcomed. In my experience, oldies and newbies alike love to hear the stories.
But I wouldn't pay too much attention to dangerlessdave. He probably hasn't been to Kogarah since the 1930s, which is kind of unfortunate. But I suppose he has his gripes. Maybe someone was mean to him once.
