Stuff it, I will put it out there and say it... I reckon we have already got Watmough for 2015.
Just waiting for Manly's season to end before announcing it.

Not a gut feeling. I just know it.

Yes the halves need to improve, but is it really our biggest issue? I reckon our piss weak defence is a bigger problem.

I reckon our halves have enough points in them for us to win plenty of games if our defence was fixed

Defence is an attitude, it can be taught and engrained. Good halves are hard to get. Corey Norman has been an epic failure!

Well we would have to wait for Manly to give the player permission to negotiate with other Clubs for 2015, then Manly to release him, before we could announce we have signed him.

It actually wouldn't shock me one bit if we signed Watmough for 2015, but released Hopoate to go back to Manly.

Yes I agree defence is about attitude, but the pack is also young, they need some leadership/guidance which watmough will provide.

Norman definitely needs to improve but he will get better, I though his running game would be a lot better considering he has been playing fullback. He looks slow and really struggling to run, not sure how the hell he managed to play full back.

You are right, Defence is an attitude. The theory of it can be taught and engrained, the execution of it in the moment cannot be, especially when 'the moment' is on the field and the coach is in the stands. What it then takes is "on-field" leadership which is where we are lacking and where Watmough will bring his worth.

The game against Manly in round 24 was won by our defensive attitude in the second half - we simply out enthused them with our defence and on a more than one set made ground with our defence. And yet every loss where we got flogged the same players with the same education and engrained attitude got trampled on in defence. Fix that and Hayne, Sandow, Norman, Hoppa can do what they do best.

completely agree and been saying it for a while

we have no problems scoring points, top 2 try scorers in the NRL although our goal kicking cold be better

our defense is woeful, 4th worse defense statistically in the NRL and way too many soft trys like we saw against the Raiders

That would work only if Manly release Mattai to the Warriors.

Exactly. So if Manly are going to release all these players that are unhappy and want out, they're going to want to replace them with others. It wouldn't also surprise me if Allgood was in the mix of all negotiations as well.

emjaycee you are right, but do players really need an "on field leader" to shame them into tackling? I just think it comes down to us being mentally weak.

When we are on we play well and can mix it with the best, but gee we don't turn way too often. You would have thought the lure of finals footy would have been enough for any player to lift.
