I could be wrong but my read on the $300k was that it was already eaten into the cap somewhere and just not paid.
Like I said, I could be wrong and probably am.
Why would they bother back-ending it if the salary cap didn't recognise the back-ending? Unlikely that they were just short of cash.
But even if true (and I guess it might be....if they thought it would be salary cap effective and then the NRL rejected the back-ending), and it means that his cap value for 2015 is only $600k, the 'bonus' simply puts a lower bound on the amount that Manly would have to eat of his cash salary next year.
