super league dream team 2014

Leeds were largely unrepresented in the dream team for the majority of their 6 superleague titles, so no surprise to see some players making it when they fall short. In short, a pointless exercise. Still, if it produces comedy gold like that from Wireman, keep it coming. Does Cam Smith actually know who Micheal Monaghan is? :)

Probably. They played against each other a few times and if you were the 2nd best, of course you would know who number one is. ;-)

Stupid question.

Was that the semi at central park? I remember going to a wire game vs Oldham there. Went back the next week to see us stuff the pies..

yep central park...our winger, paul lord, scored in the corner from a grabber kick through..was the last min and we would have won and reached wembley for the first time....but the ref, john holdsworth, ruled our winger offside...when he wasn't,ive got the game on dvd and freeze framed it and hes a yard onside...its not even close :(

I'd take roby for speed over monaghan.
I'd take burrow for kicking game over monaghan.
But I'm not saying either of these 2 are better than monaghan.

I've always thought henderson is underrated for his toughness, combined with impressive speed, passing and kicking. Although Pelissier is fast catching him.

wireman's always worth a laugh or two and never fails to deliver.

FWIW, I would still take Roby, Clarke or Lunt over Monaghan any day, but that's just me (and probably any other fan who doesn't support Warrington)

That's what I mean, Roby tackles more and is a bit faster, but only a bit.
Burrow has a turn of speed, but only a bit.

Monas does it all to a high level.

He has no weak part of his game, and can destroy the other team. Something in the SL only he and Roby can do.
Hopefully Clark can, but he doesn't yet. He has the tools to do it. Hopefully he will push on next year and become the player he should become.

Really? I think your talking rubbish. You'd take Monas over any of them.

You just can't ever bring yourself to rate a Warrington player.
That's fine, each to there own. It just makes every comment you make about the team irrelevant. Sorry.

Monaghan can absolutely dominate a game, but doesn't do it regularly enough for me, as his lack of representative honours would suggest.

On other matters, do we assume the Man of Steel comes from the dream team? Different judges tho, right?

It will be an interesting choice this year. JP the favorite, but wouldn't be surprised to see it go elsewhere

I can't rate any Warrington player? Really?!

Myler looked to be showing his potential last season and I said at the time Id have picked him in last years WC. I like Matty Russell too. He has the potential to be an England fullback. Joel Monaghan is probably the best winger in the league. Chris Bridge is a quality centre who's only downside is that he lacks size. Ben Westwood is still the best UK based back row forward. Chris Hill is the best prop in the league... But no, you're right. I have an agenda against you and I would really take Michael Monaghan over the 3 I mentioned in my original post

We will see when we go to man of steel talk and 4 nation squads.

I assume you think it should be Joel Monaghan or Chris Hill for man of steel?

I look forward to bridge been in your 4n squad. What you just described is a lot better than the competition for centre.

Roby is a discussion, Clark or Lunt isn't. Clarke certainly isn't, but I'll let you off that one. :)

Care to name any? They don't appear in the dream team because there aren't many overseas players that are any good at the moment. Luke Walsh may have made the grade, but he's as resilient to injury as Todd Carney is to p!ss.

The argument that there should be more overseas players in the dream team because 4 non english players have won man of steel in the last 10 years is a bit pithy
