Hmmm...more deflection with humour....now where did I put that copy of the Kinsey scale? I mean, of course there's no such thing as the Kinsey scale, and even if there were I sure wouldn't have heard of it and it'd be complete rubbish anyway...

I'd be happy with Stewart on a 2 year deal.

I'd also be happy with Hoffman on a 3 year deal.

I'd take Izzy, too, if we can get him away from Union.

There's plenty of pleasing potential on offer and we'll have money to spend on forwards afterwards. Half way through next year we spend the spare cash upgrading juniors and bumping their 2015 contracts midway through the year once they've earned it, and maybe giving us the opportunity to offer a little less in the extension years.

Stewart really seems to be on the decline. And he's a dick. Still a great player tho, so maybe at the right price. Unlikely to get him at the right price tho and it doesn't seem like we're interested.

Agree Stewart is in the decline but our shitty losing culture sucks. Bringing in Stewart and watmough could really be what the side needs to change that culture.

I reckon we could get him with Hayne's money and still have enough left for another quality NRL player, not a rep player but some pretty good.

Agree Hoffman is overrated. He is physically excellent (though not big) however lacks the skill and brains for fullback.

In fact if you combined Hoffman and Norman you would have a rep class player. Corey Norman just lacks physicality and a bit of experience. He is definitely better suited to half than fullback. Hoffman might be best at centre. It would depend on his defence.

Then we play Hoffman in the centres. That's why I'd buy him - he can cover a few backline positions and we can play Hopoate at the back if Hoffman is no good there.

If hoppa goes to 1, I reckon we should look at brad Takairangi. He would be pretty cheap plus he can play a few positions, a bonus if one of our younger rookie centres look ready for NRL action.

Robinson is better than Rapana and Tupou combined. He made the mistake of getting offisde with Sticky, that's all. He will do fine here whatever he's required to do, and the last time he genuinely had a go at fullback he was pretty awesome, and he can score tries with ease...it's pretty clear what his signing was about anyway. Sign the first decent option you can so you have something if it all goes further to shit, then put together a package for Folau and whoever else. You can't just replace Jarryd Hayne in a day.

On the subject of falling out with coaches, Crooks came here because his new coach at Hull KR didn't like him. He was Young Player of the Year the previous year and made the Dream Team, super talent and very much in the frame for first grade. 31 tries in 48 games at age 21, if a player did that in the NRL they'd never get out of the ocean of fanboy drool.

If we weren't to sign anyone, and assuming the worst kept secret in the game is true, I actually think we can field a solid side.

1-Hopoate
2-Radradra
3-Crooks/Champion
4-Morgan
5-Robinson/Toutai
6-Norman
7-Sandow
8-Mannah
9-Peats
10-Mossop
11-Ma'u
12-Watmough
13-Edwards

14-DeGois
15-Junior Paulo
16-Moeroa
17-Gower

That pack is pretty good. Backline isn't stellar but it will do the job if given space. Our main issue will be the halves having to step up. Having Peats back will help. Of course if we can't get Watmough next year it doesn't look as good, but we may still sign a genuine fullback too. It's too early after the Hayne thing to make assumptions IMO. Hell, anything could happen.

Nah. A bit weak in the centres, there. I'd put Reece Robinson to fullback, leave Hoppoate in the centres with Beau Champion as the other centre.
