1. Hoppa

Is his heart going to be in it seeing as though he is a Manly Jr and his contract ends in a year or 2?

Well it's not like Manly are going to be able to afford him after next year.
I don't see why his heart wouldn't be in it to play for the Eels just because he is originally from Manly.

Especially given some local juniors who have played for Parra all their career can later admit "their heart wasn't in it for the last year".

1 Hoppate-Only guy who is safe under the high ball
2 Semi Radradra
3 ???
4 Champion/Morgan/Crooks
5 Goodal/Falou/Robinson/Lavaka/Faraimo/Toutai - Really plenty to chose from
6 Norman

We need to sign a centre. We cant go into next year with Morgan and champion starting.Especially with Champions injury concerns it would be a disaster.
If we don't sign a centre Robninson has to start at fullback an hoppa in centres.
Crook could surprise us all and steal a spot. And it could open the door for davis
Crooks is very tall like davis but both need to bulk up.At 6'3 Croks is 88kgs.If he can get too 95kgs which is achievable as he is only just turned 21 he could be a real unit.

As much as people will say davis is too young. He will start the season at 19.If good enough most backs get a taste by then. DWZ is 18 at penrith.I haven't seen enough of him but plenty have said he is the best Back we have coming thru.Maybe forty20 can give us some more info on if he might be ready...

No way is Davis ready for NRL. We shouldn't rush these guys in for little benefit. Sure special players can make the quick step up (think Hindy, Hayne, hopefully Moeroa) but I don't it's wise expecting everyone to do it.

For mine:

Hoppa
Radradra
Morgan
Champion
Toutai/Robinson/Fiaramo

to start the year, unless we nab a good centre.

Not rushing if he is good enough and physically ready and better than what we have.
19 isn't that young

It isn't his age, it is his 'physical readiness'.
Someone like Moeroa has a "man's body", while Davis looks like he still needs to fill out. It's possible over this off-season he puts on that strength he needs, but unless he does, I would go with the 'tried and true' blokes.

Interesting thought re: Moeroa. Would he have the speed (especially in defence) to cope?

Dunno. My biggest concern would be whether the winger ever got the ball.

He played in centre in union. He has the outright speed, but just a question of lateral movement....I'm sure the club have a better idea than me though:)

I'd seriously consider starting Moeroa at center (or at least having a go in the trials).

I reckon Manu is a better centre option, is quite quick as long as he doesn't bulk up to much in the offseason. I reckon he is mobile enough to defend out wide. Moeroa probably going get to big plus prefer to keep him in forwards as he is probably our best hole running forward now. And doesn't have the speed of manu.

If Hoppa moves to fullback we need to buy a specialist (right) centre if we want to make the 8 (and that is assuming we get watmough).

Brad Taikarangi wouldn't be the worst option for you guys. I thought he was one of the Titans best this year and is one of the only first grade quality centres you're going to find looking for a club at this point. Very versatile as well.

Moeroa wold not be able to make his 40/50 tackles per game at centre, he would be wasted there imo
