Round 1 2015 Team

I would have Watmough move to 11 or 12 and Peats to Lock.
Have IDG come on for the last 25mins to get some speed around the ruck.

The only problem with that is that IDG has forgotten how to run out of dummy half. Averaged 2.3 runs per game over the back end of the season (last 10 games), and only topped 3 runs on 2 occasions in that time. If you want impact from a 20 minute hooker, I'd be looking elsewhere.

yeah - realistically I reckon IDG is great defensively for large amounts of a game .... but due to his aging body, he's probably good for attack for only maybe: first 5-10 minutes of each half softening up periods .... and that just don't really work

but having said that, I'm sure I've read stuff from BA which suggests he sees IDG playing a role off the bench

I dont see Mossop or Pauli starting the year. They will have to force there way into the team.I wouldnt even be suprised if tepai starts at wenty...

There is plenty too pick from and our starting team should look like this

8Mannah
9peats
10Paulo
11Mau
12Watmough
13Edwards/gower

Thats how i see it.Would be suprised if our pack was different to thaat come rnd 1.

Host of players for the bench.Either Gower or Edwards take a spot. You would also think Lussick gets on too. If IDG is on there there is only one spot left for another forward. And plenty going for it.

I think he was limited with the fact he was having to play 80 mins

8. Mannah
9. Peats
10. Lussick
11. Manu
12. Moeroa
13. Watmough

14. Mossop
15. Paulo
16. Gower ( can play middle or edge)
17. Edwards (can play middle or edge)

I like that pack!

I'd swap Gower for Pauli but it's a big tough pack full of experience and talent. Haven't seen us field a pack this good since 09.

So you would move our our best option at dummy half to weaken the pack???

Lol that's even dumber then resting him for 20mins to bring on IDG.

Bit hard for IDG to run from dummy-half when his forwards are getting monstered and there's no quick play-the-balls.

Even still, he should be a backup at Wenty only. I'd keep Peats at hooker for the whole game if possible.

There are so many injuries and suspensions during a season anyways. Guys on the edge will see plenty of game time.

Obviously there are still some spots up for grabs, mainly in the backline. Our forwards will be stronger but even without Hayne I think our 'spine' will still be stronger then in the past few years (except last year of course).

1 Hopoate
2 Semi
3 *
4 *
5 *
6 Norman
7 Sandow
8 Mannah
9 Peats
10 Mossop
11 Man'u
12 Moeroa
13 Watmough

14 Edwards - Edge or Through the middle (similar role to a Parker at the broncos)
15 Pauli - give us some punch on the edges
16 Gower - Prefer him through the middle, also edge
17 Paulo

I think Hoppa I a no brainer for fullback, best replacement for Hayne and he has the playmaking ability and the foot brains. While he isn't hayne-quick but funnily enough neither is Stewart or Dugan.

* Centre and wing are our problem area now as we would have lost Hoppa, Sio and Tonga who were the starting 3 of the back 5. I'd say Morgan, Crooks, Robenson and Champion would be the front runners but I think some of the under 20s talent like Davis or Matterson could easily push their way into the side or we might make a late signing.

I honestly think we can do well and Hoppa would be a chance to play origin at fullback. He could be as good as Stewart or Moylan.
