Warriors have $$$ up their sleeve with Mateo going
No base of anything, but Warriors could make a play if hes on our radar

If Mateo leaving frees up as much cash as Hayne leaving whoever signed Mateo should be shot.

I think Mateo asked to leave so he might have left with nothing, as opposed to some of the Dragons players for example who are being pushed. Those guys are guaranteed their money so clubs can get a good deal and let the old club pay the bills. Dragons will be paying wage bills at a handful of clubs next year.

Ahhh Hayne asked to leave as well so would still free up a lot more money that Mateo leaving the Warriors, which is my point. Only the Raiders could possibly compete with the money the Eels could throw at Auva'a this late in the year.

Maybe they want Hoffman was 5/8th after losing Albert Kelly and witnessing his sublime passing skills this season.

Never said Mateo leaving frees the same as Hayne.
All I said was that we have $$$ up our sleeves.
We have also offloaded Kevin Locke, Jerome Ropati, Carlos Tuimavavue, Sam Lousi and if rumored is true - Jason Bukuya. With Ryan Hoffman the only notable addition (plus Mitch Allwood).
Dean Bell (head of recruitment) has stated on NZ Radio that we are looking at adding to our player roster for next season (albeit, as I've said in a previous post in the Warriors forum - he is a pathological liar and couldn't be trusted as far as you could throw him).
Also said that there was no base to us even being interested

I've never said the Warriors could/would match whatever the amount the Eels would pay as I don't know the sums either club would be willing to pay for a rookie off a great season

Pretty sure Hoffman has said he only wants to play Fullback.
If he's going there to play 5/8, I'd have a guess he was sold the impression of a Fullback role.
