Speaking of media leaks...I'm sure Mr Hardley will inform us in no uncertain terms that Fitzy and Sheppard are the way to go...

And If they do get in, can you imagine how many times we'll hear Hadley tell us all how 'he has it on good authority that.....' Lol

And the Code of Conduct would not stop that from happening.

From the Telecrap - 2015 Player Movements

EELS:
The Eels have a $1m hole in their cap following Jarryd Hayne’s shock exit to chase his NFL dream. They announced a signing spree soon after Hayne’s departure, agreeing to terms with Anthony Watmough (Sea Eagles), Brad Takairangi (Titans), Danny Wicks (no club), Richie Fa’aoso (retirement) and Reece Robinson (Raiders).

Prior to Hayne’s exit, Parramatta focussed on retaining existing talent - including Semi Radradra (2018), Tim Mannah (2017), Manu Ma’u (2017), Tepai Moeroa (2017) and Kenny Edwards (2017). But to do so they had to cut the likes of Willie Tonga (Catalan Dragons), Fuifui Moimoi (future undecided), Ken Sio (Hull Kingston Rovers), Jacob Loko (mid-season - Bulldogs), Ben Smith (retired) and Kelepi Tanginoa (Cowboys).

Ins: Anthony Watmough (Sea Eagles), Brad Takairangi (Titans), Danny Wicks (no club), Reece Robinson (Raiders), Beau Champion (Rabbitohs), Isaac De Gois (mid-season - Sharks), Richie Fa’aoso (retirement), Cody Nelson (Titans), Ben Crooks (Hull FC), Shannan McPherson (Salford Red Devils)

Outs: Jarryd Hayne (NFL), Willie Tonga (Catalan Dragons), Ken Sio (Hull Kingston Rovers), Jacob Loko (mid-season - Bulldogs), Ben Smith (retired), Kelepi Tanginoa (Cowboys), Lee Mossop (Wigan Warriors), Brenden Santi (mid-season - Tigers), Liam Foran (London Broncos), Evander Cummins (QLD Cup), Lorenzo Ma’Afu (QLD Cup)

New contracts: Semi Radradra (2018), Tim Mannah (2017), Manu Ma’u (2017), Tepai Moeroa (2017), Kenny Edwards (2017), Joseph Paulo (2016), David Gower (2016), Vai Toutai (2017)

Future to be decided: Fuifui Moimoi, Taniela Lasalo, Toby Evans, Ben Jones, Api Pewhairangi, Joseph Ualesi

I haven't actually read much of this thread so excuse me for being lazy.

Is the ability to nominate still open?
No, unless something suddenly changed.... I think anyone intending to nominate had to attend one of two board member training sessions prior to the nominations being declared closed?

He was told he can't run cause he is not a financial member which I find is very strange.
Hmm. I guess EGJ's situation might be tied up in the allegations of memberships that had allegedly been paid for on behalf of people....
Grothe Snr is still aligned with Wallace and Kelly

The interesting one will be the make up of Dennis's ticket.

His team is made up of ex Parra First team mates and friends who supported them, interesting.
Hopefully they don't split the not-3P vote, and allow the cowboys to keep clinging onto to limited involvement with our recovering club.

As for anyone running a ticket??... f**k em! It'll creates more division within the club, I will be voting for individuals and not tickets.
lol, welcome to six years ago... 2008-9 says hi!

Emperor strikes back as Denis Fitzgerald re-emerges at Parramatta Eels polls

Date
November 19, 2014 - 10:00PM

Adrian Proszenko
Chief Rugby League Reporter

Denis Fitzgerald, the former long-serving Parramatta chief executive, could make a shock return to the Eels boardroom. Fitzgerald is one of 22 candidates to have nominated for the upcoming Parramatta District Rugby League Club elections.

It wouldn't be a Parramatta poll without drama and Fitzgerald's emergence as a candidate comes amid allegations some of the candidates are ineligible to stand, threats of Supreme Court action and the postponement of a ballot that was originally scheduled to take place next month.

And, in a further twist, there are concerns the PDRL, the body that oversees the NSW Cup side and the development of talent in the rich Parramatta nursery, could become insolvent after the Parramatta Leagues Club demanded $175,000 provided to the body be returned for alleged overspending.

Fitzgerald hasn't had an official role at the club since he was sensationally trumped at the polling booth by a rebel 3P ticket in 2009. It ended the three-decade reign of the self-proclaimed "Emperor" of Parramatta and marked the beginning of Roy Spagnolo's chairmanship of the Eels board. Spagnolo has subsequently been ousted from the leagues club board, which controls the football club, but remains the chairman of the PDRL.

However, his own involvement at the PDRL elections is in doubt due to claims he, as well as family members or associates, are not financial members and are therefore ineligible for nomination. It is understood Spagnolo is planning to take Supreme Court action to defend his right to stand, with the dramas likely to postpone the ballot until February.

If Spagnolo and Fitzgerald stand when the vote eventually goes ahead, it will continue a power struggle that began more than five years ago. In the case of Fitzgerald, it could potentially mean a return to the boardroom of the PLC, making him a powerbroker again in Eels football club affairs.

Under the club's complex constitution, a minimum of three PDRL board members must be represented on the PLC board, which controls the Eels. It is unclear whether there are any impediments preventing Fitzgerald from returning to the main boardroom following his acrimonious departure.

Fitzgerald, who may opt to run on a ticket, declined to comment.

"The Parramatta Leagues Club, as the main financial contributor to PDRL, has made multiple requests to the PDRL board to resolve governance and financial concerns over the past 12 months," a PLC spokesperson said.

"The fact that three directors have been asked to show cause by a government regulator on their eligibility to be club directors obliges Parramatta Leagues Club to be concerned with PDRL governance. Contrary to independent legal advice, the PDRL board on Monday resolved to postpone the 2014 AGM and board election, and commence proceedings in the Supreme Court of NSW to uphold Mr Spagnolo's PDRL membership and the memberships of 28 of his family and associates.

"This is despite no evidence being produced that these memberships had been correctly paid for and submitted as per the PDRL constitution. The board and management of the PLC are disappointed that the PDRL electoral process has been suspended."

The PLC's demand for the return of $175,000 in funding could be the death knell for the PDRL and raises concerns about the future of junior development at the club.

"Myself and other members of the PDRL are currently seeking legal advice in relation to answering OLGA's show-cause questions," Spagnolo said.

"The PDRL AGM was not postponed solely on the membership issue and is not limited to my family [memberships] but also some sponsors of the club for many years, both under Fitzgerald's tenure and mine, with some continuing.

"The accounts for the AGM were not yet approved by the auditors of the club, as a letter of support has not been forthcoming for the next 12 months from the PLC board. This has the effect of jeopardising not only the PDRL election but the entity itself as the board may be forced to consider its position if no funding is given by the PLC. Then it would be trading insolvent. Furthermore, three directors from the PDRL board who domicile on the PLC board — Steve Sharp, Geoff Gerrard and [board nominee] Lyn Wallace — would be acting against the prejudicial interests of the company."

A committee charged with investigating whether constitutional changes are required to better govern the Eels will convene on Thursday, but any changes will ultimately be in the hands of the members.
