I have to admit, Gordon has probably been our best player the past two games. It's like he knows there is serious pressure on him to retain the number 1. The bloke is safe as a bank and his last line defense has improved from last year. The only thing he can't do really well is ball play and that is what we are missing. I think he'd be fine in the centres, he usually beats the first defender by just running straight over the top of them and can run a line. It's worth a go.. I agree with Snoop.

Holmes to fullback.
Feki and Gagan on the wings.
Gordon one centre.
Leutele and Bird to fight it out for the other centre spot.

Beale can go back to St George. Never rated him.

I saw some stats that showed that over the last 10 years we are the lowest scoring club in the NRL. In fact we were 10% lower than the next lowest (Parramatta from memory).

This shows the issues in attack are systemic. We have had poor attacking teams for years. Traditionally this club had played quite free flowing football but the last decade has been dire.

For mine the issues with Flanagan as an attacking coach are
1. Not an innovator, purely a follower - we play grinding stuff that Bennet and Bellamy played 5 years ago. It worked for them because they had the talent to score.
2. The team has no effective plays in the opposition 20. It is either a one out hit up, a poorly executed sweep play or in/out with Graham and Gordon. Good sides have a few plays that they can execute in the 20 to create points.
3. Gallen's role. How many years is it now that Gallen was going to either play 60 minutes or play prop. Neither have happened. Gallen is a warrior and he overplays. He is not a pivot like Glenn Stewart. He is a go forward man with an offload (to be used selectively).
4. Bench. Odd selections and odd rotations. It all seems very predetermined with no adjustment to suit or change the flow of the game.
5. Conservative option. He seems very conservative in approach to the game and selections.

He has shown some good qualities in being able to recruit well and seems a decent man manager. I would love to hear him articulate some sort of strategic approach apart from 'grinding it out' the game is changing and I don't see him changing at all.

To answer the question, will he change? I see absolutely no evidence that he will.

I recall Gordon saying how he planned to kick in general play, pass the ball more.

I do not think cattle is the problem.

We have Flanno and Price.....this is clearly becoming the problem.

Former Dally M medalist Todd Carney has won a wrongful dismissal case against Cronulla within the NRL's appeals structure
He could play 7.

1. Holmes
2. Gordon
3. Leutele
4. Feki
5. Gagan
6. Barba
7. Carney
10. Gallen
13. Graham

A.Fifita was getting more ink done at the tattoo show at Moore park this morning.
I asked him when the shark one was getting done - he told me when they won GF.
He seemedike a man without a care in the world, not a down on form, error riddled player who is 0 and 2

It wouldnt matter who our 6 is. Anytime we spread it wide Gallen for some reason has to be the link man between Ennis and Robbo. After he gets the ball and weighs up his options, shuffles sideways then rainbow passes out to Robbo, who then duplicates what Gal has just done and by the time Barba catches the ball after having to stop and wait for it, the defence has already smashed him. Barba's inside men are letting him down badly, they give him slow and poor service leaving him no room to do anything.

How about playing Graham at lock. But instead of being a bettering ram type of lock. Use him as a ball running second 5/8 instead.

Plenty of nothin for him to pull something out on Friday night.

I actually think the team looked better
I also think the broncos defended extremely well on their line.
We were very unlucky
They were too lucky from two fluke/arsey tries

I even thought we could have got a penalty try or at least had a broncos player binned.
Dunno what the ruling was...but it looked almost a sure thing.

What was it that looked better?

It doesnt matter who we play or sign in the future. The way that Phelmo coaches makes signing a modern day Tommy Bishop null and void.

If you guys are looking for a half I'd say your best bet would be Sam Williams from Canberra. Albert Kelly and Todd Carney have both been fired from the sharks so signing them again would be odd.

Hit the nail on the head. We are a career killer.

We thought DCE going to the Gold Coast was a career killer for him but he probably made the right choice.

He has already said Barba is playing shit.

Flanagan reckons Barba isn't running the ball enough and not giving himself enough room .
Fair assessment?

Sorry to pull this one off the first page, however playing shit is one thing, but not "running the ball enough and not giving himself enough room" isn't that the coaches fault? shouldn't he have a structure in place that allows for Barba to receive the ball more and have more space?

Things like decoy runners, players running at angles, in holes and lets not forget, actual passing and not, one out hitups?

I think we should persevere with Barba at 6. I think the last two years has shown he's not a great fullback. He needs the gameplan around him to be good in that position. That's something we just don't have.

Flanno has spoken about all this extra staff in place. Can't we just get one more in as an offensive coach?

Wasn't Price somehow positioned as an attacking coach? Or shephard maybe? Or did I imagine that?
