Which would be a great theory of we hadn't just paid massive overs for Kieran Foran and have tabled an offer which, even if it is reduced, is to a third half for 2016.

I don't think it's evidence for your theory at all.

I also can't buy the theory the offer has been made in the hope he rejects it. That would be monumentality stupid.

If we don't want him - don't offer anything. Otherwise there is a risk he accepts and we are stuck with a player we don't want. That means he would be on overs regardless what he is being paid.

The way it would make sense is if we are planning to use him off the bench. I think it's an interesting idea - it would mean limiting his weaknesses (defensively, and his inability to organise) while taking advantage of his talents (running game, unpredictability).

It's a good tactic to offer him his true value. However I cannot see him staying despite him on a moral level owing the club somewhat. Business if business and I understand that. Wouldn't hold it against him if he took more money elsewhere.

Well you've got to manage your cap at the same time. I heard some merkin say the other day that Ricky is offering overs to everyone and it's forcing up the player market.

If he is offering overs then he will fill his 2016 salary cap and prices will come back to normal.

Agreed. That may very well be the motive.

And then we avoid the problems we would get this year from sorry-Chris-but-we're-not-offering-you-a-deal.

Is the problem with Sandow that he is overpaid or that he is in our defensive line? No matter what we pay him, it will at least be top 17 money. That means we need to play him in first grade and therefore carry him in our defensive line. I suppose if we got him cheap enough we could improve the team around him somewhat but he is still a defensive liability no matter how hard he tries.

Therefore it's entirely possible for us to have decided not to keep him. But how do we tell him that without causing a rift in the team? By offering him less than he can get elsewhere.

All just speculation but I'm sure we've just written Massoud's weekend article for him.

Despite some of the comments that we are always paying overs, perhaps this demonstrates that the current admin offer players what they are worth to the club and we seem to be becoming an attractive propositionmore a to players, that is really what is happening

That may upset the conspiracy theorists, but t happen to,think that is what is going on

Well with the players that we've signed, re-signed, looking to sign and to re-sign I don't see how we could be paying overs for players. Unless players coming off-contract were on so much overs that these overs are nothing compared to those ones.

It won't be a story if Manly see it as an opportunity to sign the only 150 FG game No.7 on the market.

Spot on Poo. Look at the Manly Scenario where they didnt make Glenn Stuart an offer. Smart stuff by BADASSSS. I guess we will see how Sandow plays whether the offer is to his liking or not. I have to say his form is always patchy, his defence will always cause issues and he appears not to be a go to guy when the pressure is on eg. his most recent conversion attempt.

So assume that means we are aiming for Norman to play 1 next year.

Not sure he is good enough a fullback.

However his running game at 6 has improved a fair bit this year I guess.

I agree on all three points. But I wouldn't have said it twice.

There seems to be a bunch of merkins running on various "rebel" tickets.

I'll be interested to know what they claim that Sharp & Co are doing wrong and how they propose to do it better.

#aintbrokedontfixit

Yes it ain't broke.

What can these people offer and what credentials have they got?

Members need to think why they would want to replace Sharp & co who are doing a good job.

This is not the first time I've read this here - maybe it's not the first time you've posted it - but I gotta say, 'WTF?' More politely, duffing one kick on a dodgy pitch, that would have only seen us move from 6 points clear to 8 points clear, is very little evidence for your theory.
