If we had the structure in the backs that we had in the first game against Manly, then I doubt this conversation would be taking place. The loss of Champion and Radrada has been enormous, I haven't seen anything in the lower trades that provides any alternative, strength in those positions takes pressure off the halves to consistently overplay their hand

Whilst Sef was not solely responsible for the defeat, I still struggle to see what improvement he offers the side on a weekly basis. Last night he wa particularly ineffective ( in other words , awful)

Terepo is the Geoff Robinson of the modern area. Takes the ball up hard but rarely makes a break. I reckon he could be UK bound. He is on big coin compared to his ability.

How many forwards regularly make 'breaks'? Terepo had 11 hit ups for 120+ metres last night. He's is progressing well. He'll get paid whatever the market is prepared to pay him for next year.

I meant bend the line. Do you think he does it effectively seeing that his is being shot out of a cannon?

IMO release the following players:

Sandow
Hoppa
Release Joseph Paulo

That would be a fair chunk of the cap right there. And help us to sign up some speed / talented outside backs.

Last night he played more as a runner through the middle. He made good metres but our shape is better when he plays as a middle half.

No Barry! He'll get a raise on whatever he's earning right now. That's how it works. Clubs have to pay a player more than whatever they're currently on, even if no club thinks he's worth it. That's the agreement the RLPA put together.

Our shape is better??? Pffftttt he is one the reasons we predictably go side to side without even testing the defensive line. Paulo is easy to read, u know he's going to pass the ball out the back.
All the defence has to do is slide

I think he is doing well (he now runs smarter lines) and shouldn't cost the mint to keep. He is not threatening to break into the Origin team, but neither are the majority of forwards playing NRL week in, week out. And, he is not perpetually injured like Pauli Pauli seems to be.

And regarding whether or not he is being shot out of a cannon....who cares? And if the team as a whole is going forward more often....he'll become even more effective.

Agree about stef. Not sure what he's offering us. We may as well play with 16. Do teams see this assclown as a threat???? I like what BA had done to date, but I'm losing faith while he persists with this moron. Surely we can Select a more effective bench.

Correct. He has no running game so passing is his best option.

He has no kicking game either, so I dare say passing is his only option. Lol

We really blew it when we signed Watmough? Arthur's obsessing with an ageing loudmouth who has only indifferent form and injuries ahead of him and is on huge dollars, has stuffed us up for a good 3 to 5+ more years.

Imagine if we hadn't signed Watmough and instead went after Trent Merrin as we should of all along and who is on similar or even less money. Then it would of allowed us to go for the player we should of always been after and believe me his management, after last weeks Fox Sports revelations, would have been way more pleased, and that is Dale Cherry-Evans.

Instead we have 3 playmakers for next season(should Sandow stay) who aren't playmakers. Sure they have their moments, but that's the problem, they are just moments and the team results show just that.

Chrissy, as we know, is an individualist. Norman, is a dumb and petulant playmaker(no wonder he and Hayne used to argue) who rarely ever dominates a game from go to woe, but can have his great moments.

And as for Foran, well his playmaking abilities will be highly tested next season, but I don't believe he has the full game dominance that a great playmaker does as can be seen time and time again at Manly, just like how he displayed in his quiet game this weekend.

But if we had gone harder for Titans forward Ryan James and focused on Merrin and DCE, who would of given our team a whole game focus and premiership look about it, something that the young but stupid current Parra players are thirsting for, well we would be looking forward to a totally different decade ahead.

But instead, we have got Wotmough, an over priced Foran, who I predict, we will destroy mentally and physically, another ageing rock star in Beau Scott, and probably Daniel Tupou, who is exactly the type of problem player(mentally switched is off more then on) that we already have an abundance of at the club and you would think the coach would be avoiding like the black death. And don't start me on the re-signing of slow poke Hopa out wide, when there is a player like Tim Simona on the open market.

There are always great forwards and backs that a club can entice and rebuild with, but there is rarely the once in a decade chance to snare a great halfback as good as DCE. We just don't seem to be able to get any of it right though unless it falls in our lap with juniors and even then we get it wrong on many occasions too.

2016, same as the 2015, same as 2014, same as 2013, same as 2012, same as, same as, same as...

Did you see Gower towards the end of the game. He was essentially performing Seph's role.

But on top of that, Gower runs hard at the line, can step and also offloads.

He is almost our James Graham.

Pauli looked keen and was running hard but we didnt give him much ball.

Ram that is a very good post. One of your best. I like Foran but would have gone for DCE instead. Cannot believe we didn't go for Merrin.
