Kelepi's problem is that he's too muscular. Works himself too hard in the gym which means his muscles are too tight and will snap easily. He isn't too slow either, he was a winger when he was 15.

Kelepi did well when he was a junior because he was much bigger and more powerful. As a result he did not have to refine / improve other skills such as defence, passing, offloads, footwork and evasion. He could rely on those strengths when playing against boys. He now needs to improve these areas in the NRL against people his same size in order to have an impact. It will take time for him to do that.

How could they be wrong about a player's speed? They measure it at training in every conceivable situation. The only thing they can't measure at training is how players perform when faced with legitimate pressure and aggression.

They realised they were Wong about hoppa and fb

More likely is they were wrong about Morgan at centre. The game before Hopoate moved we conceded 38 points, and our edge defence was slaughtered. Hopoate wasn't the problem - he scored a very good try and made zero errors.

Never minded Lorenzo, never given a chance, even in our darkest days.

They get their chance at training, all off season and several times a week during the season. If you're not competitive at training, whether for ability or attitude, how can the coach have confidence you'll be competitive in an NRL game?

Ma'afu had plenty of skill and seemed to have a good, tough attitude in the NSW Cup, but he also looked to be a bit slow and small for first grade. Which is why he isn't currently contracted to an NRL club.

Apparently Elgey will make a decision on Monday. Manly are chasing him hard. If he stays at the Titans expect Sandow to play for Manly in 2016.

Losing Lussick and Sandow won't have a big impact - because we'll hve their money to spend elsewhere.

Our front row stocks are looking quite good, though if we lost Lussick we'd need to re-sign Pauli and hope that he develops.

Norman would paly alongside Foran in the halves next year, and then we could aim to buy in a better credentialled half to parter Foran from 2017 onwards.

I gather he's signed elsewhere. With Wicks option picked up, Faaoso taking his spot and Jnr to come back, we can only carry so many top 25 middle forwards. He's on to much cash for what he has/does offer.

I assumed he is leaving. But it now appears he has been dropped

Last night offers up the obvious, we need strike players in the backs. The current line up is solid at best, no pace or power off the line, what wouldn't we give for, someone like BJ Leilua ( and he has faults too) just to threaten a break . Not sure on recruitment outside the obvious we hear about, but would be sensible to look there currently

If we decided not to re-sign Hopoate, we'd probably be cashed up to attract a strike player in the backs. Semi on one side, someone else on the other side.

The players who we signed for overs in the Kearney/Stuart/3P era must be long odds to stay with the club - unless they accept reduced (or less than expected increased) deals.

Terepo is the Geoff Robinson of the modern area. Takes the ball up hard but rarely makes a break. I reckon he could be UK bound. He is on big coin compared to his ability.
