Next question, why is the chairman even speaking to the media? How many other club chairmen speak to the media regularly? This is the CEO's job in my opinion.

well the new guy is pretty green - so hard to dump it on him so early on when none of it happened while he was around

you could argue that at least sharpe is putting himself in the firing line for a mess he was part of creating .... he could just hide behind the n00b CEO

having said that .... how f**king annoying is it at the game when they are continuously saying "On behalf of the Parramatta Eels and chairman Steve Sharpe, blah blah" over and f**king over .... yes we know you are the chairman, don't need to constantly re-state it every time

It's not about owing the media anything but you have to
Be on side with them. Getting our message out there instead of The one way negative press that we are getting. Our unprofessional management have been like a dear in headlights, they look and act amateurish not knowing what to do or say. Do they have any contacts in the media at all? Staying quiet and not communicating is showing a lack Of Leadership tbh.

You mean like Wayne Bennett and the Broncos?

I wouldn't be surprised if they are going to continue to be cagey to try and keep the Us vs The Rest Of The World mentality.

Leadership is doing what works for your organisation, not necessarily what works for your customers or outside observers.

There is that something very special about Cody Nelson.
I'm going right out on a limb by saying that he will become one of the best 9's/14's in the world well before the end of next season.

For the rest of this season Peats should take Sandow's spot, leave Kelly @ 6 and Norman @ 1 and we've got a strong defensive and attacking spine that will take us deep into this years semi finals. Bar injuries, by round 22 this season our spine will be fine tuned for a big shot at the premiership with our forwards getting us there and our backs finishing off all the hard work. Not saying we are going to win it this year but least we will all be proud of our club once again.

And what about this for passion

http://www.parraeels.com.au/news/2015/06/28/watch_the_team_song_.html

Punch the sky with bloody fists
And bash against the wall
When we hear the whistle blow it's time to go to war
We bleed for one another and the story must be told
That if you cut us open we'll be bleeding blue and gold
Parra! Parra!
You know we came to fight
Parra! Parra!
Our brotherhood is tight
When you wake up wounded just remember how it feels
To try to go toe to toe with the Parramatta Eels!

Our club is finally coming out of the dark ages.

My thinking is that if we are any chance of going deep this year it will be with Sandow at 7. And a monster bench.

I get it, have thought that many times this season while going up and down the Sandow see saw. However, I feel with Peats @ 7, Kelly @ 6, Nelson @ 9, Norman @ 1 and with our blossoming pack of forwards and backs, we'll leak far less points than we used too while our attack will still be good enough to score more than what we leak. The Dragons game last Saturday night being a great example.

The three players/areas of major concern I have is Sandow, Morgan and 5 and then there is the goal kicking. Fix these spots and we are on our way into the final 8.

1. Norman.
2. Semi
3. Taka
4. Hoppa
5. Robbo (goal kicker with Luke Kelly)
6. Kelly
7. Peats
8. Mannah
9. Nelson
10. Junior Paulo
11. Ma'u
12. Tepai
13. Watmough
14. Gower
15. Wicks
16. Lussick or Alvaro - Edwards or Terepo if they get back from injury
17. Pauli Pauli

18 Ualesi

The 5 spot........ Lavaka or Davis (another goal kicker) or Faraimo or Tautai or we blood another powerhouse junior like Tyrell Fuimaono who really appeals to me.

says who ?

we sell more papers and clicks than any other team, as long as this continues why should we give them more opportunities to misinterpret and write more speculation. If Sharpie turns up for their sledge session, they will only focus on the negatives so he is on a hiding to nothing, then the press articles and speculation will happen from there

If we issue MRs like every other club, we control what is written

Getting our message out there instead of The one way negative press that we are getting.

yeah, that'll happen

lol, do you believe in the tooth fairy as well ?

this is the media we are talking about, they want our blood

Our unprofessional management have been like a dear in headlights, they look and act amateurish not knowing what to do or say. Do they have any contacts in the media at all? Staying quiet and not communicating is showing a lack Of Leadership tbh.

Its actually a pretty smart thing to do atm, why do we need to continually be on the back page of every newspaper ?

They will never write anything positive about us as that doesn't sell chip wrappers.

THE Kieran Foran situation has reached the stage where all of the information is in and it is now up to him to finally decide whether to join Parramatta next season or seriously consider the other options available.

RLW has been told the discussions between the Eels management and Foran’s management over the terms and wording of a new contract have been concluded and that the star player now has to make up his mind on what is best for him.

Foran wanted to decide whether to go ahead and join Parramatta first, before advancing discussions with other clubs if that became necessary.

Neither Foran’s management nor Parramatta are rushing him to make a decision.

But the likelihood is that Foran won’t want things to drag on for much longer himself and that a decision will come within days – especially now that he knows exactly what the conditions are on which he needs to make a choice.

His Manly side next plays on Sunday – at home against Cronulla.

If true, these are not the actions of a player who is pissed at the club and is working to get a deal elsewhere.

Manly/Dogs have had ample opportunity to trump us.

the eels priority should be to sign Foran, not try and get on the front foot with the media. Like its possible anyway....
