it's going to be interesting to see the line up madge goes with. with storm looking like they are going to win tonight against the sharks, and having the knights in melb next week, souths will probably have to beat the dogs to stay in the top 4..

Yeah, it's a big ask for Souths to stay in the top 4, too many missed opportunities against teams they should have beaten earlier in the season.

anyone who has been watching the bears games, has cody been defending/tackling well???

Cody's a star in the NSW Cup.

He won the best player in the Qld Cup 2 yrs ago too.

His circumstances[DV]have held him back.

He has huge potential.

He requires an opportunity to unleash it!!!

Any winger who rushes in to shut down a play and misses the tackle is suspect. Gray did so three times against Manly, bet that's why Maguire dropped him. The Manly winger, was it Hickoo (? and who cares) scored three try's on Gray's wing.

Maybe Maguire can fix him, I'd shunt him but I ain't the coach.

We seemed much more stable against the Cowboys without Gray and the Cowboys have better wingers than Manly.

Agree, that was probably a big reason why Madge dropped him over Bryson.

Just a few points because i cant be bothered quoting everyone.

I heard McInnes started running again last week so hopefully he's ready to play on Friday if need be. If not we have Clark

Dylan Walker to hooker is one of the most stupid ideas ive heard in my life

At the moment; Goodwin > Gray, in the long term though I can see the opposite. Don't forget Gray is only 21, playing out of position and is injured atm. When he gets more experience, is fit and playing centre he'll do well.

I reckon Dylan and Auva'a are our long term centres not Gray.

Gray will have to play on the wing.

There is no reason Clark couldn't play hooker.

Yep I completely agree as I have previously said somewhere in this thread.

I expect Carter to play hooker for about 55-60mins with Clark to help out when Carter is off.

I am confident Carter can get the job done well.

I'd much prefer Carter as hooker over McInnes. McInnes has had many many opportunities and disappointed each time. Carter looks much bigger and much faster and seems to be able to take on the defense better.

The idea of Sutton at 5/8, with his bicep injury, is ludicrous as is Stewart, so for mine its Cody Walker at 5/8.

I completely agree in regards to Carter at hooker over McInnes.

I disagree about Cody though. For mine it's Sutto. Sutto will be good defensively too and the Dogs have lots of big bodies so I think Cody would struggle defensively.

Sutto provides great experience, leadership and a calming influence at 6 too. I reckon Sutto can get the job done as he has done previously.

I'm becoming tied of McGuire's conservative approach to player selection.

Madge gets the results though doesn't he!

101 games coaching us with 67 wins and 34 losses. That's a great record.

Coming up to the back end of the year and crunch time, it's no time to experiment imo.

Alien imo, we definitely have to beat the Dogs to stay in the top 4.

I can't see the Storm losing too the Knights, in fact I reckon they will beat the Knights quite convincingly.

If we lose to the Dogs then they are only 2 points behind us.

The Sharks should beat the depleted Tigers next week and go to 30pts too.

Geez it's a tight comp.

Also alien as you know the team Madge names tomorrow will most likely have changes come 1hr before kick off on Friday. Madge keeps his cards close to his chest sometimes early in the week!

We need to win 2 of our next 3 and we should make the top 4 on 34pts. Our differential is now at plus 77.

The Storm play the Broncos in Round 25 and the Cowboys in Round 26 which isn't easy for them. The Storm will most likely drop 1 of those. The Storm have a plus 118 differential though, 41 pts better than us.

The Sharks have Manly in Round 26 which is hard for them too. Their differential is -34.

Knock off the Dogs and then either Broncos or Roosters is what's required.

I think he can 'provides great experience, leadership and a calming influence', from second row.
I don't think he has ever got the job done at 5/8th.

The over riding factor is, he has a bicep injury, he can't pass the ball properly - if he ever could. He never had fast hands did he or fast feet, he also hurt his hammy didn't, FFS.

Under Madge in regular season games Sutto has got the job done at 5/8 so credit where it's due. But in finals though Sutto has really struggled to get the job done.

A couple of face book sites. Apparently he has not trained all week?

He may not train until Thursday and only do the 1 session and see how he pulls up on Friday morning.

Sutto doesn't need to train much, he knows how to get the job done.

Madge will give Sutto every opportunity to prove his fitness.

But I'd imagine Cody is training hard with the side and will be ready if Sutto is ruled out on Friday morning.

Yesterday Newc Troy Thompson said that Sutto is doing rehab with Eddie Farah and that come Friday they're confident he will play. They said the injury was only a minor one.

looks like cody will probably get a run at five eighth then...

It's quite a possibility.

I wouldn't count Sutto out yet though as I've mentioned in a post above this.

Sutto would be a big loss with us already being without Keary and Issac.

If Sutto is out the scales get tipped into the Bulldogs favour that's for sure imo.
