Ravens for mine although some may not consider them a roughie. I think they are always a chance. Strong D and when they click on O, they are hard to beat. Love the purple uniforms too!

We aren't probably classified as 'smokies' as such... As we are still at least a season away from contending for a playoff spot... I think the upside for us is going to be more a 7-9/8-8 type season.

But I DO think we are going to beat some good football teams this season. We have a young team... With some building blocks in place...

It looks like we are building through our O & D-Lines. Our D-Line especially will cause some teams some real problems. Moving Khalil Mack to DE looks to be a master stroke.... He's just been beasting this offseason... the kid has shown he's a hell of a run stopper... We just need to get his sack count up. He's got a massive upside though... I'm probably being a homer with my sig and avatar especially... But I think Khalil Mack has JJ Watt type of upside... He could be the benchmark in a couple of years.

We are very suspect in the secondary... Nate Allen has had a surprisingly decent preseason... And Charlie-Boy just keeps holding it down on the way to the hall of fame. But our corners are terrible. DJ Hayden especially.

On the offence it pretty much all hinges on Carr. He needs to make a decent step forward this season. There's no excuses anymore... In Cooper, Crabtree, Streater & Holmes he has weapons. If Murray can get the ground game going then it all falls on Carr.

We have the nucleus of something special... We just need our young QB to do the business.

The Cardinals were doing some really good things before Palmer got injured last year, I believe they were undefeated with him.

I would say the Lions but I'm biased because they're my team, I do think we're becoming a nicely rounded team though.

Going slightly rougher than those two, I would throw the Rams out there. Should have a bad ass D, just a matter of what they can do on offence.

The Cardinals have some issues with there offensive line... We played them in the dress rehearsal a couple of weeks ago and they just couldn't block Mack.

He just blew past the back up RT he matched up against... But I think more worryingly for them he also dominated starting LT Valdheer easily when they had him switch.

They need to protect Palmer.

Yeah, the Cards have injuries/suspensions across the OL to start the season. Hopefully they can sort it out and keep Palmer upright. They've also got injuries at TE and very thin at CB. Hopefully Bruce Arians can work his magic again this year.

To answer the question though. Raiders impressed me during the pre-season. Their front 7 was great. Wouldn't surprise me if they did well this year. Same goes for the Rams. Their D keeps getting better and IMO got a better QB in Foles. Could be in for a good year for Kurt Faulks boys. Also I feel with GB's injuries at receiver that the Lions will take the NFC N this year.

The first teams that came to mind were Ravens, Colts (not really smokies, but most likely outside of the obvious team), and Lions (genuine outsiders, but they have a punchers chance)
