One of the shittest and overrated capitals on the planet. Hated living and working there. Watching the club get the world constantly handed to them and being supported by wankers that think anything north of the sunshine coast is baron wasteland and that being born north of the capricorn automatically makes me the equivalent of cletus from the simpsons.
We have had to endure being stuck in the 9.30pm sat night timeslot what seemed to be an eternity (pre viewers choice days) whilst brisbane may as well have channel 9 as a sponsor on their jersey. Could be on a 4 win streak, rack some decent scores up and play a side lower on table then us but watching the news update the next day it will still be an "upset win". Post 2004 when results and semi's appearances began this turned into watching the sunday footy show and constantly hearing how badly whoever our opposition was played instead of how good the cowboys were.
Spending years and decades being discarded, written off, shat on from above and labelled as community of rednecks in what actually is a very beautiful part of the world while at the same time putting up with entitled shitheads that consider travelling away is an hour drive to the gold coast but know for sure it isn't worth heading north for any reason.
I went to one of our wins at suncorp a few seasons ago and was at the most cringeworthy peak of bronco night football where if the away team got within 4 in the penalty count it was a miracle. It took an abnormal amount of players put on report that just couldn't be ignored (but still getting raped in the ruck) but by some miracle we ended up winning the penalty count andthe game (that matty bowen pulled out of his ass with a late try from the scrum feed). The rumblings i was hearing around me and the genuine shock on peoples faces was a sight to see. The entitlement during this period had gotten so bad that because of what night it was when where they were they just expected it to go their way and couldn't compute it when they had been treated the same as the rest of them and been beaten.
To add comment to another topic been brought up here, one of things i hate hearing the most is when only brisbane is in action or just playing that night of that round is "you have to support the broncos as you second team, you're from qld". Not a chance in f&*king hell.
