I'm not one to knock Stagger's mail, but it would be very strange to post those photos on FB like Hayne did then actually sign with them.

Yep exactly. I'm sure people within or club are sensitive and paranoid about him ending up there - not sure we would know either way if he was going to the roosters.

I just don't think it sounds likely at all.

The bloke was playing for the 49ers three weeks ago. He's already done a deal to go to the roosters now?

If money was no object I don't think the roosters would have allowed RTS to leave.

I also can't see the 49ers having been involved in some massive conspiracy to allow the roosters to steal arguably the best fullback in the comp (albeit one who has had a year off with no endurance training and changed his body shape and built corporate relationships with sponsors in another country) all so they can put him in the spot that the other candidate as best fullback in the comp over the next ten years was already in.

Some of us are old enough to remember when the Eels had their glory days in the 80's. Can you imagine if Sterlo, Kenny, Ella or Price defected to Manly ? As a teenager it would have devastated me. How now am I going to explain to my 13 year old boy that one of the greatest Eels of all time may be going to the Roosters? It's a f**king disgrace if it is allowed to happen. Fitzgerald for all his faults would have had an agreement making him sit out for at least a season and sign some type of binding contract before agreeing to a release.

I've heard many opinions from League people of what Hayne brings to a team culture and unfortunately some of it is bad however the powers that be at Parra would need to have balls of steel to not try and entice Hayne back assuming he wanted to return.

The day certain people were allowed to take over our club with their hollow third party agreements was the day our great club started to slide. It makes me f**king sick.

'IF' Hayne signs with the Chooks, it would be no ones fault but the Parra Administrators. Well run clubs always land on their feet after setbacks and quickly. Shit admin are perennial also rans and make many excuses and so do the dumb arse supporters who shill for them with blind passion.

Why would it be our admins fault?

Well, think a about it, if say Fittler at his peak had done the same thing and left the Rooster to pursue a long held passionate dream, would uncle Nick not have kept regular contact and even maybe visited him at a game? Wouldn't he have been making sure that if it didn't work out, that Fittler would have no problem or shame in returning back to the Chooks no matter what? Wouldn't he have made sure he had third party deals ready to go if such a turn around started to look likely?

Oh yeah, it seems as though he has done just that, except for the visit to the game part and I only suspect that hasn't happened due to the fact that it would be way to bleeding obvious on what his intentions are and Hayne isn't a former Rooster YET, as would have been the case if it were Fittler instead.

Plus, if our admin weren't so weak, they would never have lanced Bill Moss's plan to create a third party sponsor club that would have blitzed all others. Instead we have an admin that fears big end of town players and just makes token statements that we would be 'Very interested in Hayne should he wish to come back'.

Well HELL YEAH! But what have you done, if anything, to ensure that he will come back if he returned to the NRL? We all seem to know what the chooks are doing.

The way I see it is if Hayne does come back to the Eels, it would not be due to any great planning or business savvy skills that our admin have, but solely due to Hayne's own loyalty to his childhood club and mates. But a guy can only be so loyal, eventually common sense kicks in and you choose the better horse so to speak.

F**k I hate my club sometimes.

Um Hayne was only contracted to us for 2015. So if we said no, then he would have left in October 2015 instead of 2014 plus think that we're a bunch of pricks.

I don't buy that a "savvy" operator would have managed the Hayne situation any different than how we did.

The Eel for life thing could never have been ratified in writing I heard Paul Kent say, as it would have put our cap in a unimaginable spin for the next X years whilst ever we had an option over his services.

Could also mean Arthur doesn't want him and has nothing to do with the clubs management

Yep, that's what I was speculating in my post a page back....

Probably some common ground being found between BA and DA on this one!!

I heard Arthur on radio state when Hayne first left that if he returns it will only be with Parra. Why Would he now change his mind ?

Maybe because it may cost $1-1.5 million of our cap and he thinks he has better ways of spending that amount of money to better improve our squad.

Good clubs can make it happen. Tap Watmough on the shoulder, give him a defensive coaching gig spread over 3 years to absorb his lost income and release a player like Peats and/or Pauli to another club. Back end the deal and I'm sure the room will be there.

Hayne is the best player to ever play the game. Why we wouldn't have him back is beyond me.

Souths have Burgess and Inglis. Storm have the big 3. Don't start me with the Roosters, yet we can't afford Hayne and Foran? Give me a f**king break!! Who has more members than us besides the Broncos, Dragons and Souths? We are the sleeping giant of the game. We rate consistently high on television and Hayne is the biggest name in the game.

If he returns it is only with Parra. It would be The only option if I was running the Eels.

Just trotting out the company line at the time maybe....

Like I said in my earlier post, BA would have every right to feel like Hayne's decision to walk away, or more to the point, the timing of it, sabotaged his plans for 2015 (and beyond potentially).

And like Joshua says, even if he did want Hayne back, how could we fit him under the cap seeing as the NRL have ruled out assisting clubs to get the likes of him back to an NRL club... BA has got his marquee man in Foran now and seems to be building around him...

Look I'd love to think Hayne would come back to Parra and help the club end the premiership drought, but I'd say it's long odds of happening to be honest...

I agree, and I have no doubt if Hayne wants to come back and the club wants him we will make it happen somehow by making room in the cap. If Hayne does go to the Roosters it will be because he didn't want to come back to the eels (for what ever reason), not because of a substantially better deal.
