And again, why would Hayne have been exempt from this tax after five years of missing the finals?

He might not have been towards the end of his tenure. He still wouldn't have been on bucket loads more than what Foran is being paid though IMO. Also, that tax increases for every year that we continue to be shit!

And there's the elephant in the room. The guy left us while still under contract. If he comes back it means he's not happy earning practice squad money, in which case money is very important to him. In that case he will cost a metric f**kload of money.

Are we arguing about what he was on or what he will be on? I'm not sure everyone is talking about the same thing.

With Moss and Gardner in the squad is there any chance Gordon starts in 3 or 4 and Moss or Gardner takes fullback?

BA confirmed, Foran 7, Norman 6. A good interview. Said hed love to have Hayne back but reckons he remains committed to the NFL.

Apparently the stadium trust have been on the phone wanting him to help with the construction of the new stadium.

They reckon no one else they know of has as much experience in shifting the goalposts.

The hoodoo number 7 jersey for Foran hey. Just to put even more pressure on him.

That probability also indicates that he will play right side also.

Link to a podcast?

it was on ch9 news .... not much more to it - he was very adamant that Foran wanted to play #7 and take on more responsibility and that Norman plays #6

the whole time I had Pou's voice in the back of my head saying - IT DOESN'T MATTER, WHICH SIDE OF THE FIELD WILL THEY PLAY ON  .... (and I kinda agree)

I'm still lost on why each club doesn't have to publish who their Top 25 is at any given time. It would make things alot more transparent with salary caps as well as the second tier cap. It's a joke really.

I guess, because, given the nature of players contracts, they don't know for sure. For example, win bonuses aren't determined until you know the result of games (even though you know how many games the player played last year). And coz they don't want to effectively tell other clubs (and some of their own players) what some players are or aren't being paid (at the lower end of the list).

What is stopping us fans at putting a 3rd party deal together for Hayne?

Personally i hope Gordon has a great year but Moss or French step up by mid year pushing Gordon too the wing and establishing themselves as better then average first graders. Than in 2017 we have a fullback costing a lot less then what he is worth and 1/8th of what Hayne would cost .
Every team needs a HERO and there is no reason Moss or French can not step up and provide the majic. Both have skill speed and are flashy players. The type that gets you on your feet.

Keep in mind guys - If Hayne isnt taking the ball on the last then Norman or Foran get too. If you end up over the try line than it does not matter how we got there. Sometimes too many cooks ruin the broth.

But the NRL must have to know at any given time who's in each teams Top 25, otherwise how would they know who's used their second tier cap players.

It's ridiculous that clubs have a top 25 but are allowed to name a squad of 40 plus.
