Gould on Twitter interesting comments.

@Gus10Gould will you announce the chris mc queen signing at the members do next Saturday?
Well, we haven't done a deal with Chris as yet. Still discussing several players. But when I have news, members will.
We can't help what media does mate. No deal has been done. We've spoken to several players including Chris. No hurry

You are premature with your congratulations sorry. No deal has been done. We have spoken to Chris but no $ discussed.

can you elaborate on any of these 7 players could be signing other than Chris? Understand if you have to keep it hush hush but

7 players?? Not 7 players mate. "Several" in this case means 3 or 4. One in UK and 3 locals

Food for thought.

Dylan Walker. Or if he goes to Manly, Hiku. If we got Hiku and Grevsmuhl for 2016 we would have a scary good side. We would certainly lose a few players in 2017 but it could give us a good crack this year and we have plenty of juniors to fill holes where we need. Sometimes you need to take a punt to grab a premiership.. We need to stop thinking about the next year so much without forgetting it completely.

I also don't rate Hiku.
Me neither.

He and Walker are better than Rennings and Blake at the moment. But I honestly believe one or both of them could be better than either player. Likewise with DWZ if he played at centre. I think he's already better than Hiku and will be better than Walker in 2016 if he can stay fit and play fullback or centre.

Walker would be great or Roberts even better, but with all the 2nd row depth we have, especially if we get grevs and McQueen i would love to see Peachy in the centres. Anyone know if he has played there before? He would be a handful and he is wasted coming off the bench.

1 Moylan - Will smith
2 Mansour
3 DWZ - Blake
4 Whare -
5 G.Jennnings - R.Jennings

Not sure penrith really need any backs unless the plan is too move Moylan into the halves.Between blake and both Jennings boys id expect one of those 3 good enough to fill a wing spot and he other 4 pick themselves..

Not shocked if Taylor moves on but would be a surprise to see him at Manly and not back at the Warriors. I don't see how Manly could afford him firstly considering who else they have bought plus I didn't think he had that close of a relationship with Barrett...

George Jennings I don't think goes anywhere. He's got first shot at that wing position now if Moylan plays in the halves.

Gus said last night he is looking at 3-4 guys. An experienced outside back and a backrower.

He said he is looking at a few locally and one from the UK who hasn't played in NRL before...for the backs.

I think we are short one centre when looking at our depth but backrow I thought we were set.

But it may be future proofing more than anything with the knowledge that Taylor leaves after this season more than likely.

Even if Moylan moves to the halves our depth is good enough that it does make much sense to waste money on an established back unless they are one of the games elite.

1. DWZ
2. Mansour
3. Blake
4. Whare
5. Gennings
6. Moylan
7. Soward

Backups:
Rennings (c/w)
Smith (fb/c/halves)
Wallace (halves)
YEO (C/SR)

That's sticking to our first grade experience players only. Throw in young guys like TMM, Naden, Heffernan etc. With potential and it's a waste of cap space to sign another centre/winger. It's certainly not a position we are weak in even with a few injuries.

I like Taylor, he isn't a game breaker and we need someone like him making 50 tackles a game. If he moves on, Merrin to 13 seems obvious. Although unless one of either Bryce or Merrin go from the explosive players to 50+ tackles a game, Taylor will be sorely missed. Segs can't carry extra workload and be the same in attack, he proved that this year.

I wouldn't move Moylan to the halves yet, give him another season at the back, or slot him there only if injuries force the move. DWZ although good at fullback, will be a better centre (he just needs to calm down).

Taylor's work rate is impressive, but there's a few new guys in the pack to pick up the load, and depending where he is in the pecking order, Garcia is a tackling machine. Also has the benefit of being able to play prop if needed, and will make many more metres (Taylor's biggest weakness).
Clears the way for Merrin to play in his preferred position too, so not worried if he moves on.

Depends where we play DWZ. He and Whare could make a fearsome centre pairing with R.Jennings and Blake backup it's more then handy.

You are right about G.Jennings I think he will be our winger. Unless Blake goes well pre season and we play DWZ on the wing.

I don't think it will hurt to get a few Souths discards if Souths are paying part of the deal. We'd have a bit left from Idris still

Its the experience Gould and Griffin are after. If something happens to Whare then both our centres will be light on harden experience in those positions.
Jennings bros, Blake, Smith lack it. Yeo stopgap solution.
Lets face it DWZ, the Jennings bros have had a lot of injuries the last few years. Whether you blame Cleary's training regime for that is another story.
I could see why they might want another experienced centre to cover all bases.

If the rumours are true and we are getting Grevs and are eyeing up Mcqueen as another backrow option then someone must be going.

Merrin just got here.
Cartwright ain't going nowhere.
Peachy recently extended and named player of the year.
that leaves Taylor.

Experience doesn't matter if the players just aren't very good. Those young guys might bit light on experience now, but the only way they will gain more experience is by getting more game time.

I think by the end of the season our best possible backline by the end of the season would be:

1. Dallin Watene-Zelezniak
2. Josh Mansour
3. Waqa Blake
4. Dean Whare
5. George Jennings

George plays a lot like Mansour and I think that back 3 would be the best kick returning combination in the competition. All 3 are strong players who are great at busting tackles and have strong leg drive to make metres even after contact. That entire backline is physical to be honest. Which would come in handy with a lowered interchange.

There's no guarantee that we even see that backline though. It's all up to whether Griffin sees Moylan as a fullback or a half.
