SMH alleges we are after Lafai now.. It's a little ridiculous how many players we are tied to every off season. Would love the pick up though, as Lafai is a genuine centre.

Given that Walker and Roberts were available this off season, as well as Hiku, id be a tad disappointed if we end up with Lafai.

Agree. Walker is a better option @ centre, Hiku is very versatile and Roberts is in the Bmoz mould of burning speed and great upped body strength. All are great options though, and I certainly wouldn't begrudger Lafai.

Isn't Lafai under contract or am i wrong.

Lets see Walker has only just been realesed.
Hiku hasn't been.
Bird hasn't made his mind up yet.

If released coast

St George Illawarra headline a number of clubs preparing to swoop on Tim Lafai should the Canterbury centre come onto the open market.
The Dragons are chasing an outside back and are also one of the suitors for Manly utility Peta Hiku. The New Zealand international is contracted to the Sea Eagles but has been told he is free to explore his options as the club attempts to free up salary cap space following an impressive recruitment drive that is about to conclude with the signature of South Sydney's Dylan Walker.

Something's cooking at the dogs. They rate lafai highly. They are probably making cap space not only for Hopoate, but possibly SBW.

Glad to c we r fulfilling our normal role of being the manager /player $ increase mechanism. We are apparently after everyone and get no one, but dollars for the players concerned go up just in case the story is true. Usually it appears it is not. Hate being used and disappointed. Mind u Aitken, Peter M & Nightingale must be a little relieved that none of these deals in all likelihood will happen.

There has been talk that a very prominent Sydney NRL club is being looked at by the NRL for salary cap overs...my guess is the Dogs need to offload to get the pressure off and look like they are doing the right thing before they then sign Hopoate to more dollars than Lafai was on!!

No doubt we'll be linked to Grevsmuhl next...

We have money to spend for 2016 (im sure more than most clubs), and a very finite list of players to choose from at this late stage (mostly all available due to clubs letting them go too).

We should be able to land one of them, but you need some luck, there are drivers like Hiku & Brad Arthur, or Roberts and his ties in QLD, or god knows in play, not to mention we are probably offering ~2yr contracts at most, esp on a "bonus buy".

From what I am hearing Hiku wants Parra because of Brad Arthur and other Manly players there, Roberts is staying at Titans, Walker done deal at Manly. Bird and Lafai are the only realistic targets left
