still can't get over that kick. if the kicker had failed already going for it on 4th and 1 in that situation might have been an option particularly with AP running it. in saying that you'd expect a kicker to get it from 30 yards away 99.999% of the time.

feeling for both Bengals and Vikings fans at the moment.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but looking at the kick again I can't help thinking that the Vikings should have gone right on that final run play to get the kick more central to the posts or even lined up on the right hand post.

All the pressure from the Seahawks on those FG attempts was coming from the right hand side. It wasn't surprising that he would push it left slightly in an attempt to keep the ball away from the area most likely to get a block.

In the end he pushed it a little more than slightly, but like I said - hindsight is a real bitch sometimes.

Fantastic opening drive of the half from Washington.
Really liked the call to go for it on 4th down. Gutsy call that paid dividends.

Bengles in particular for me. They're a team who had a real chance of doing something in playoffs before Burfict's brain explosion.
Looking back on it, the game was very dirty on both sides of the ball and even though those two players are boofheads, it comes down to coaching.
Surprised they'd be keeping the HC.

Shining light for the Bengles is AJ McCarron, this game might have been a good audition at starting QB somewhere.

I had a look at the Vikings message board and the feeling there is that not only does that kicker have a poor record over shorter kicks than longer, he has a poor record kicking off the left side hash marks. Poor Vikes.

Generally the mood there was more bouyant than the Bengals board. SHEESH!!!

IM ON THE SAME MULTI!:lol:
Also on a 4 game unders multi that is ON like donkey kong

Unfortunately it looks like you can say goodbye to that unders multi now...

Stealers and Hawks not being able to cover small starts has killed me this weekend... Should have just gone the head to head...

Need Alabama to cover the -7 to get me out of jail...

It's cause it was a series of events that happened. Hill dropping the ball, Burfict intercepting the ball. Porter in the Bengals huddle, Jones getting a PI. Just so many things combined to generate that result.

Shit it would be easier if Huber had missed a kick that decided the game.

 poor Bengals.

Again, the benefit of hindsight, but these are the sort of things coaches should know about their own players and they would have seen the main threat was coming from the right hand side. Asking him to essentially kick towards the area most likely to receive pressure on a game winning FG was asking for extra unneeded pressure.

That's still no excuse. At this level you simply don't miss those sort of kicks at all, let alone when the game is on the line. It's on him for sure.

Understood. It also seemed the majority of Cinci fans were sick of having those undisciplined ass-bandits in their team.

They were expecting them to balls up in some way and they delivered in spades.

A lot of NFL conspiricies going around as well, mixed in with a genuine rivalry hatred and a 25 (?) year stretch of failure has delivered a wrist-slitting shit-storm.

Kind of reminded me of the '99 NRL GF. :(

With the Vikings I honestly thought that, I mean, really who misses a goal right in front like that!
I did notice the placement of the ball though, including the direction the laces faced, just a crappy end unfortunately.
