Yeah have to agree with that.
Dropped balls, errors completion rates, travelling etc etc.......just excuses really.

This is a professional football team, so it doesn't matter wether you play then now , next week or any other time, you still have to compete and beat the team put in front of you. But, Mary keeps saying they are quality football teams (who we played against), this is basically an admission that we are NOT a quality football team.

One thing from the press conference that I do agree with and it came from Widdop......."the boys are trying hard, probably too hard". I would say that the boys are trying very hard, they know the fans like us are, well, dumbfounded at them, so the more they try the more errors they make....it's just basic psyche at the moment.

Changes needed?....yes there are! But I'm sure as the sun rises tomorrow, once we score some points, they will start to flow like flooding waters. Our team is too good in itself, for it not to.

Pick your heads up boys.........although were upset at the moment....we will continue to give you all our 100% support as you will give us your 100% effort.

Both of them look shellshocked.

The way Mary talks up the opposition makes me sick.

No wonder this team has no confidence.

We are in a huge hole and watching that presser hasn't given me any confidence for next week.

Yes the old tough draw and we have to play all tough sides away. Mary keeps indicating that they scored their tries off kicks. Well the first one from a compressed defence and poor read by Matautai did not look like a kick.
But the one out running is awful to watch.
So...that is 6 out of the last 20 Mary = 30% success rate. One of the lowest of a coach for some time now..except maybe Steve Kearney / Ricky Stuart at Parra.
Excuses like we are playing the tough sides, short turnarounds, injuries etd daint cut it no more.
That is the stat that worries me most..especially moving forward as they keep talkin about.
Wont the media have more fun with our 40 points in 6 games stat = 6.666 per game.

JT alone has scored more points in 5 games than our entire team has in 6. Nothing wrong with our D but our attack is broken. Has been for a few years and it ain't getting better. Yes, it was better this week than last week, but all in all it is abhorrent.

Mary can't very well come out and say that our "attack is broken" at a press conference, or to his players. Because it's not going to get better without confidence. theres no easy answer this season except a lot of hard work at training.

There is simply no excuse that can be rolled out which would explain why performances have been so poor.

Sure Broncos and Cowboys are two good sides, both played on their home turf, Broncos on a short turnaround.

All of these things were known two months ago. Stating things like this in a press conference is IMO pointless and reeks of not taking responsibility.

Yet McGregor tried to trot out just about every excuse in the book in his moanfest, but if we work hard all will be fixed .

Totally agree about playing them at home ,he is trying very hard to deflect.

6/20 = goodbye, no matter how much sugar coating they try to spin...

It just won't happen.

He took them to semis last year which was a result better than expected. More importantly they just can't afford to pay him out according to reports regarding our financial position.

If form continues to be this poor then I would expect he'll last until the last third of the year. If there is any uptick in performance he will stay until the end of his contract

unfortunately i tend to agree...
it would take another few blowouts in the next few weeks for the board to even consider moving early on him...

Compete rubbish same babble that Price used to use. Okay the problem I have is we are loosing games but its the way we are loosing. We have got nothing , if we loose scoring 20 point a game the loss would not be so bad....Mary is in denial....

Shameless stuff. This is the team culture right now.

http://www.dragons.com.au/news/2016/04/08/mcgregor_we_re_tryin.html

McGregor:

"We're not going to sit here and make an excuse because we've got to be better."

next breath, he lists the excuses...

"I don't think too many teams are going to go to North Queensland and win and I don't think too many teams are going to go to Brisbane and win and we've just had them two weeks in a row.

"We're playing against two quality sides in six days"

Worst Mc Gregor press conference yet. Someone earlier mentioned he looked rattled. No he didn't. He actually said he was "comfortable" with the effort put in. And then put the scale of the losses down to being on the road and playing the 2 grand final teams.

Watch the Broncos press conference. A win by 26 points and they're dirty on themselves. Huge difference in culture.

Yep you are dead right.
There is no spark or ange,r he needs to show some passion admit he has got it wrong, and draw a line in the sand for himself and the players he picks.

i think the problem is in the past when the team has performed poorly Mary gave them a verbal blast and they responded the next week.
this time around he has tried the same approach - it didnt work, they didnt respond, and now he has nothing...
