I dunno about Semi playing fullback. Wouldn't he be too big? Fullbacks really need to work their butts off to make that try saving tackle, stand at marker than sprint to the other side to collect the ball on the line of tackle again. I can't see Semi doing that.
He really is an outstanding winger. His hit-ups coming out of trouble are a highlight.

Jarryd Hayne admits he was wrong to claim Eels did not offer him a contract
August 4, 20162:40pm

JARRYD Hayne has been forced to correct his own version of events after being caught out making a false accusation against the Parramatta Eels.

The former NFL running back yesterday declared the Eels failed to offer him a formal offer before he signed a reported $2.4 million deal with the Gold Coast Titans.

Speaking before his first training session with his new teammates on Thursday, the 28-year-old was forced to tell a different version of the story.

The Eels on Wednesday issued a statement declaring they did put a tangible offer in front of Hayne’s manager Wayne Beavis, believed to have been a three-year deal worth $2.5 million.

Ahead of his expected debut for the Titans on Sunday against the Warriors on the Gold Coast, Hayne admitted the Eels made him an offer but only after he probed for one.

“They offered me a contract when I asked what was going on,” he said.

“I had to ask. I’ve been unemployed for almost a month now.

“I’ve been knocking back offers for that long waiting for theirs.

“If you have to call someone to ask what’s going on it’s not a good sign.

“I waited as long as I could. They’ve got bigger issues than that.”

Hayne denied his decision was simply about money and said Parramatta’s off-field woes in the wake of their salary cap scandal was also a factor.

Yeah there's a certain work ethic and vision and decision making ability you need from a fullback that outside backs generally lack. You see plenty of teams try to shift a quality outside back to fullback to get them more involved but plenty of them fail. The Panthers tried it with Jennings, the Knights recently tried it with Gagai, and the Roosters have tried it recently with Ferguson and Mitchell, and have signed Gordon for next year. Mitchell and Ferguson are both immensely stronger and quicker than Gordon, but they just lack what is required from an NRL fullback. Latrell Mitchell at least has time on his side to develop, but there's a reason Corey Norman's kicking game looked so good against the Roosters.

Funny how the off season woes never affected his ability to sell his merchandise in our club and allegedly receive payments (over $400K) whilst away in SF.

But JH said he was broke and had been unemployed for a month

What a sad state of affairs as he tries to save face , if he wanted to play for the Eels , he had an offer, just accept it. You 2 faced idiot

Was a great player to watch, but this episode paints him in such a poor light that he has lost so much support. Good luck getting that many fans up there

The Titans fans will flock there, they won't care if he lied to us.

Mate I can't wait to watch his first game, and I'll probably be backing the Titans in the finals. I think it's good to have Hayne back in the NRL. At his price I'd rather him playing against my team than for them. But I'm also glad we don't have to play them again with so many of our players unavailable.

What fans???

All the plastic ones. This will draw fans to the game to about round 10 next year then the fanfare will settle down and they'll sink back down to irrelevance, it's just the nature of teams on the Gold Coast.

The one's they'll get now... I'm sure he'll at least double their fan base, to like, 10 or something..

Well they had 15,000 at their last Home Match, we had 8,500 at our last match at Pirtek.

How many will we have for Manly tomorrow night?

One might just ask, where the f$$k are our fans?

I notice they enticed The Plane with money from sponsors...shame ours have all f$%ked off

The Titans have something to play for, we have had our worst year on record as a club and no longer can make the finals.

Sydney has how many teams as opposed to the Titans?

Stupid comparisons!

They must be using the same bloke that counts the tickets for the Roosters each week because there is no way they had 15k there last week based on what the television coverage showed.

Mate, I know the reasons why. I just made a couple of predictions. Do you think my numbers are incorrect?

I love how he mentions our office having woes. They didn't seem to have woes when they paid him to be ambassador for the passed two years. Nor did they have woes when they decided to sell his merchandise. Hayne used the club for money and to enhance his brand. Then tossed us in the bin when he was done. I'm sure Hayne would be having restless nights and regrets on his decision. Had he signed with the eels I'm sure he would of made up the shortfall over the coming years. Hayne needs to grow up and realise he isn't greater than any club, especially ours!!!
