I know there is a lot of history and doom and gloom so I will just add 2 positives

Teams like Canberra who come home flying often falter at finals cos they have been up for too long. Storm, Cowboys, Sharks and Donkeys did the hard yards early and breezed into finals. Those teams normally do better in finals as they have been preparing for weeks unlike the teams who have to keep winning till the end.

Final positive, if we do lose, just remember Cowboys last year went the long way including beating the Storm in Melbourne for the prelim!

Oh and if Sutton is the no1 ref then he should be doing Storm v Cowboys so 3 positives!!!

Reason to be confident. The Sharks can rattle teams like the Raiders and put them off their game.
Reason not to be confident. They lose, they get another game. It's in the mindset of this club and especially the coach. Already Flanno is not to worried and now Luke Lewis has said they get another bite at the cherry.

I think they probably should've waited to see where / how we finished up before re-signing flanno. We haven't faired too well since the announcement.

Panthers are the Sydney people's champions to barrack for in the finals - that's according to one of the local rags.
Only thing as a positive from the weekend, was that sharks had a tough game and up against it with the storm, refs etc. The likes of Canberra, Brisbane and Penrith played the likes of the NRL whipping boys with the Tigers so crap it wasn't funny.
Would be better to go in with a last game win but if flannos mindset has been solely on the finals - they should hopefully shake it

My theory on this upcoming game is simple. Attack the f*ck out of their weakest links. In my opinion these guys are Sam Williams and Jack Wighton. Sure the latter has been playing well but it's a known fact he doesn't perform well under pressure. Just bomb the f*ck out of him and have the big boys breathing down his neck. This will lead to possession and a blow to his confidence. He also has a tendency to have the odd brain snap which we need to take advantage of.

I reckon last round put us in good stead - we had a good semi final practice run and they had a training run. Hopefully we will be hungrier and more focussed.

Still haven't seen the game on t.v but at the ground we looked more fluent with the ball in attack than we have in a long time imo. Hopefully we take the right options and the passes stick v the mucus. More pressure on them than us considering the hype building in the a.c.t.
