The attacks on him have gone far enough. But his support for someone who is a convicted killer, on the platform that is available to him, is in poor taste.

Is it worth punishment? Is it worth him missing out on representative honours and boosting his career? Is it worth costing him tens of thousands of dollars in match payments? The answer to all those is the same.

The only ones making this a big deal is the media. And Greenberg has done what they, his masters, have wanted.

You don't forget your mates, except we all do, in truth. I'm sure Kirby excluded Einfeld from that scene as much as all the breathlessly keen young students who muttered in shock when they mentioned his name.

Cant say I've got an opinion one way or the other, except that the so called integrity commission makes me want to vomit. PR commission is more correct.

And two years for a $77 fine only proves the law is an ass.

Idiotic thread. FFS the guy hasn't even been punished yet.

Go ask Mitchell Pearce if its fair. He did something nowhere near as bad and copped 8 weeks and 125k fine as well as ruining his clubs season.

Fifita has gotten off lightly so far if you ask me. He shouldn't have even been playing in the GF

Ten minutes to go.

Team down on luck.

Andrew Fifita carries 5 over and somehow plants the ball down.

It is not possible.

But it was.

The people who Andrew grew up with and stayed true to ... family ... mates ... community all pushed him over.

You NEVER forget your friends.

There maybe no more Kangaroo or Origin jumpers in the future but Andrew has already inspired many with his loyalty, courage and kindness.

The boy from Blacktown has inspired many kids there to work hard to make it.

On the same day as being "a person of poor character according to the NRL", to be ineligible for Kangaroo selection. An NRL coach in Paul McGregor gets a suspended sentence with a 12 month good behaviour bond for DRINK DRIVING and no punishment on this ....

What has Andrew been charged with?

Well, that's the way Australia works. Unless you are from the "right" heritage, you'll have to work twice as hard to succeed and be twice as big a target when you do.

Proud of you Andrew.

Geez Canard, as a poster I have some respect for what you say.

Until now. Experience mental illness yourself and come back to me.

What next? Tell some dude in a wheelchair with cerebral palsy to get up and dance?

Read the post mate. I'm not having a go at mental illness. I'm having a go at the claim that Fifita is some sort of expert in the field.

No need for anyone to feel sorry for Fifita, he is every bit as lucky as a Lotto winner, imagine his life if he hadn't learnt to play footy. All he has to do is use his earnings to rise above criticism, most of us who are less advantaged don't give a shit how he does it

Andrew grew up in Mount Druitt, a satellite suburb of Blacktown in the Western Suburbs. A welfare, housing commission belt in Sydney. The wrong side of the tracks you may say.

His dad left the family when he was 6.

His mum raised him and the brothers as the best she could. But when you grow up in that environment, you run around all sorts of hours doing all sort of things, often with the wrong crowd.

At 18, in court, the judge told him to get himself together or go to jail, likewise to many of his friends.

To his credit. His strength of character and along with his belief in Jesus, he turned his life around. Studied hard and not only pass the HSC but did outstandingly well, this was paralleled with success at footy.

He worked hard for his golden ticket, no lottery.

You all have to understand how you survive on a day to day basis in the toughest area in Sydney. Strength in numbers, stick by your mates and don't take a backward step when confronted.

I think he is a champion.

Best player on the field on Sunday.

And this will be the only thing the NRL Integrity Unit will uncover with their on going investigation.

Luke Lewis was brought up by his mother in Doonside, made Druitt seem a holiday destination, he was officially MOM . . . maybe he should have made the squad too

Fifita in any way shape or form, can be a person who can support a person with what ever condition they have. Being there for someone is way better than that person having no one at all.

That's not what I am referring to.

I'm talking about the spurious claim that he is some sort of expert on mental health issues.

Displaying the message "Free Keiran Loveridge" in cryptic form isn't a gesture of forgiveness. It's an indication of opinion that there was no crime to forgive.

No one gives a shit if Fifita wants to stand by his f**kwit mate and visit him. Just don't write fkl on your arm when you are playing or shove it down our throats. As far as im concerned despite the police warning there would be no issue without that msg on his arm.

"free Kieran loveridge" like how f**king insulting is that to the family of his victim. Being from Mt Druitt isn't an excuse to be a dickhead what a shit thread.

Was attacking that junior ref a result of his poverty ridden upbringing in mt Druitt, should we respect him for that also?

Fifi is supporting a lifelong mate, not what his mate has done.
All the hate towards him is misdirected, led by the media chasing clicks.
He probably could've been more discreet in his support but to judge him for something that any mate should do is just wrong.
