The issue for me isn't that he visited his mate in jail, but there is a right and wrong way to go about it, I don't think he gets the position he is in and the responsibilities that come with it. Same when he signed for the Bulldogs then started talking about Union.

The FKL thing is the problem and it should have been dealt with internally but that's not the way the media works, the only reason it was an issue and became public was because they made it one but Fifita gave them the ammunition and you can't do it.

Loverage is one of the most hated individuals in Australia. Probably only behind the monster Paul Kent.

Some of you may not understand this, but Fifita is just copying rappers and hip-hop culture. Whenever a rapper goes to jail in the states (very common), all his supporters will spout "free ...(insert rapper's name here)...." every chance they get, no matter what the rapper has done including murder.

Fifita's just tryna be gangsta and cool.
He's not necessarily "supporting a mate". He's just tryna be a G.

It does smell a bit like that. Have you heard about how he grew up in western Sydney where everyone is poor criminals?

No one gives a shit if Fifita wants to stand by his f**kwit mate and visit him. Just don't write fkl on your arm when you are playing or shove it down our throats. As far as im concerned despite the police warning there would be no issue without that msg on his arm.

"free Kieran loveridge" like how f**king insulting is that to the family of his victim. Being from Mt Druitt isn't an excuse to be a dickhead what a shit thread.

Was attacking that junior ref a result of his poverty ridden upbringing in mt Druitt, should we respect him for that also?

That is the nub of why I don't like him. Fifita has a right to see a mate and support them if he chooses, that I do not dispute. I just find his having "FKL" on his armbands as grossly distasteful for whilst he may see it as supporting a mate, many others don't see it that way.

His carrying on with the junior league referees in the Penrith District Rugby League really shows me what type of person he can be, a jerk. Add in his comments about deliberately trying to rile opponents on the field so they will punch him and get sent to the bin, and I seriously question whether he is "a good bloke". A "good bloke" doesn't do that kind of shit.

As far as I am aware fafita hasn't broken any laws during his time in the nrl, however i do understand he has offended a lot of saintly peoples moral sensibilities

He plays for cronulla so he must be a good bloke. Until he signs for another club. Then he's a faargin kaarnt and the groupies find someone else to defend.
It's like that isn't it, pretty much the only ones defending him are Sharks fans.

I don't feel sorry for Fifita, he brought this on himself by his poor use of words and his actions.
And I'm sure he's fine, I know he's not real bright but he would understand the backlash for supporting a high profile one punch killer.

does it deserve this much media attention?
Poor old Paul Kent can't handle the fact we've won the comp.
His latest blog in this subject made him look pathetic.
Anyone who disagreed with his constant attacks on Fifita was called a fool by him.
When asked why he was doing it, Kent's answer was "justice".
Justice...for what? There was no crime. It was a dumb thing to do ...but anyone who reckons Fifita was doing anything other than supporting his mate his full of shit.
He apologised. He won't do it again.
It's not like he got blind and pretended to root a dog or grabbed a girls vagina in a pub.

Well the media attention for one punch crimes has been huge in the last 2 years.
There are now lock out laws in place because of people like Kieran.
It isnt the media or 'pc brigades' fault, its Fifitas own fault for bringing attention to himself.

I'm sure there are other players that support people in jail but they do a gesture or have a set word.

He's a f**king liability. The chances of this deadshit doing something stupid or even criminal that brings the game into disrepute are about as high as you could get. To risk it in England while representing Australia is not worth it. The cc medal voters knew putting him on stage after the gf was a bad idea and the selectors know giving him an Aussie jersey and a ticket overseas is a bad idea. I'd say it's a brilliant bit of risk management that isn't employed near enough in the game, especially at club level.
