Agreed, the NRl should bring in some min standards for grounds like they did in EPl after the European fan disasters. Clubs moaned and said it would send them broke but here they are now 25 years later in a multitude of state of the art stadiums.
Min 25k capacity with min 18k seating undercover should be the target. You wont grow crowds above 15-16k in a stadium with only 12k covered seats.

Where Cronulla are going to find the needed $80-100mill from to build two new stands is another question. Do they have another block they can sell off?

Wah Wah Wah

Good watch your boring car racing loser .

No need to build two new stands extend the ET stand both end , and raise the level;.raise the level of the Southern stand.
For a start they will have $60m plonked into their account once residentials finished, throw in min $1m rent per year from retail, plus club profits from a refurbished club with far bigger patronage.
The club like all Nrl clubs will receive an extra $1.5m per year toward infrastructure and promotion.

An extra 200 units plus hotel on top of the retail and near club are being thrown up for a DA.If that is approved you can add a hell of a lot more.So there's you extra block.

The talk of an A league team will further add to the push.
I do believe the Sharks will have a better chance than most to get their stadium updated.I can't speak on behalf of Perth ATM,because I can't for the life of me ,see a team.

Wonder how long until the main ground gets redeveloped into appartments as well ?

Developers have their eye on the whole site

Not just the junior playing fields

More surprised council are letting their allocated sported venue to be rezoned

Source???

Council gave Cronulla a site to play rugby league

Cronulla goes bust and takes the cash grab via SL

Cronulla goes bust again

Developer sees a opportunity and dangles a carrot. Sharks take the bait and sell the site

Developer now bides his time

Residents will start a noise petition one day
Or Cronulla goes bust a 3rd time
Or some form of relocation occurs

Might want to check who actually owns the land title over the site now

Why don't you tell us since you think you know everything.

Rather read facts then a petulant rant with baseless innuendo

Sharks own the ground
Sharks will get minimum 30 million from the development plus annual rental income of more than 1 million
Sharks just made a profit before the sponsorship and membership boost of winning the comp.
You may want to find another broke club for relocation speculation.... St George or Tigers are in a far worse state.

Add to that, the absolute fortune the club is now making in merchandise sales after winning the comp and id say the Sharkies are sitting pretty compared to most of the competition.

Waiting for facts, not rants and assumptions.
For a start Einstein, the Sharks did the groundwork seeing the opportunity ,they had an asset which could be enhance greatly.
But do go on I've always enjoyed fiction.
