I think it's prettt standard for a coach to say "I want to make an impact". If we lose, we lose. I don't think there will egg on his face because of that statement.
As I CLEARLY stated on my post it's the "kind of statement you hear from a newly appointed coach". Yes of course it's a predictable statement as I CLEARLY stated earlier.
If we win great but if we lose, how is Kidwell HONESTLY going to feel, if post match media asks him an open question.
Media: "Kidwell you said you wanted to make an immediate impact, did you feel..." thats IF we lose though.
It's what happens on the field that matters. I just hope to see this immediate impact. I personally, respect people who talk and walk. The facts are; he just got given the role, no international coaching experience and hes passionate about what he brings to the team. Basically he should just stick to the facts and things that he can control.
If we see new set plays, strategies etc being EFFECTIVE then win or lose, I'll respect Kidwell for doing what he said. Many will respect him, especially if the papers highlight that he said he'd make an impact. Winning isn't entirely the impact Im thinking he means, I'm expecting something different, something compelling. If its the same sh1t, clearly theres no immediate impact for me.
The kangaroos don't seem to have that hard look aboutthem of years gone by. Sometimes you would look at them and think "shit, there's no way were beating that team".
I don't really get that with this team.
No the Roos havent had the invincibility look over us in awhile now. I put them as favourites in every game we play them, no matter how good we look, I always respect them as the REAL green machine in all of sports. They got guys like Gould, who represents so many others, that wernt happy with their win against us and as a quality of a champion side - theyre never complacent. They probably couldve "30 nilled" us in that game.
We do have Luke back who provides that service and keeps markers with him (well markers should do). Brommy, Taumalolo and Ill chuck Johnson there are in good form. I look forward to this test and look forward to Kidwells "impact" on the team.
