Pretty excited to see how Rapana goes in the pinnacle of the game.
Also without BJ. He looks strong on his legs all year but test level is defintely a level up, especially when its a top 3 clash. He'd probably be on most Kiwi fans list as a linebreaker and that would be a short list too as I rate only Kata, Johnson, SKD and Rapana as line breakers. Itll be interesting to see if he can continue his good form as you say.

Surprised at all the hating on Lewis Brown, sure his club form may not warrant him as one of the first selected but he has never let us down in the black jersey.

For me, Brown and Beale doesnt spark anything in attack. In our 16 nil loss to the Roos in the last game, Beale wasnt strong enough to cope with Boyd in the Roos first try and Brown gave away a penalty in front of the sticks.

Makes me wonder if they think Kata will end the dullness in our attack...I dont know but I do know our attack with was crap and it looks like we got the same players, only this time these guys have had a season where they continued to be...quiet!

Brown probably hasnt let us down by just doing his job. He was given a role he doesnt normally play. Thing is we have guys that can do the job and more. Most likely a back up for Luke at hook but we could really do with more.

Kidwell says he wants to make an instant impact with the Kiwis. Kind of statement you hear from a newly appointed coach. Bold or brash? Should Kidwell just relax and not make statements that might set him up to get egg faced?

Let's say we somehow happen to lose against the Roos. Had he came out with "building process" rather than "immediate impact", at least he can explain to everyone (if we lose) that "hey, it's a building process" cos that would be honest and realistic.

We got the Roos comin up and we don't look too much different from the team that failed to get points on the board after 80 minutes, months ago to the Kangaroos. The Roos have made changes to their team that shut us out (the world champions) BUT, they were heavily criticised for their winning efforts!

Kieran Foran, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, Ben Matulino, Dean Whare and Peta Hiku are all out. We have some new debutants and our Kiwis 17 isn't red out yet. With mostly the same names, will it be the same team? Will they be better off from the earlier loss? From that, can Kidwell really take the credit for a team assembled by Kearney? Will Kidwells coaching impact be so clear or do we have to look for something good and slap Kidwells name to that?

So many questions...

I think it's prettt standard for a coach to say "I want to make an impact". If we lose, we lose. I don't think there will egg on his face because of that statement.

The kangaroos don't seem to have that hard look about them of years gone by. Sometimes you would look at them and think "shit, there's no way were beating that team".
I don't really get that with this team.

Again, I don't think we can look too much into what happened at the start of the year. Traditionally we don't do great in those games. SJ was just coming back from a big Injury and we didn't really have a second half, and no Luke. We have some of the best players in the world in form - I'm picking a pretty close game with a bit of SJ magic to get us home

As I CLEARLY stated on my post it's the "kind of statement you hear from a newly appointed coach". Yes of course it's a predictable statement as I CLEARLY stated earlier.

If we win great but if we lose, how is Kidwell HONESTLY going to feel, if post match media asks him an open question.
Media: "Kidwell you said you wanted to make an immediate impact, did you feel..." thats IF we lose though.

It's what happens on the field that matters. I just hope to see this immediate impact. I personally, respect people who talk and walk. The facts are; he just got given the role, no international coaching experience and hes passionate about what he brings to the team. Basically he should just stick to the facts and things that he can control.

If we see new set plays, strategies etc being EFFECTIVE then win or lose, I'll respect Kidwell for doing what he said. Many will respect him, especially if the papers highlight that he said he'd make an impact. Winning isn't entirely the impact Im thinking he means, I'm expecting something different, something compelling. If its the same sh1t, clearly theres no immediate impact for me.

No the Roos havent had the invincibility look over us in awhile now. I put them as favourites in every game we play them, no matter how good we look, I always respect them as the REAL green machine in all of sports. They got guys like Gould, who represents so many others, that wernt happy with their win against us and as a quality of a champion side - theyre never complacent. They probably couldve "30 nilled" us in that game.

We do have Luke back who provides that service and keeps markers with him (well markers should do). Brommy, Taumalolo and Ill chuck Johnson there are in good form. I look forward to this test and look forward to Kidwells "impact" on the team.

It's clear there is an immediate impact from Kidwell, he hasn't made muppet moves like leaving JWH out, and will pick a team that contains genuine centres and a hooker rather than backrowers covering those spots

Honest answer...are you a Kiwis or Kangaroos supporter?

Genuine centres as in the line breaking, hit man on defence, game winning superstar Gerald Beale?

Hooker I agree with although Kidwell might go against you there as he's selected Brown again - possibly as hooker cover!

The immediate impact were discussing is in relation to Kidwells latest media statement just two days ago I think to which I've provided the link. Good to see your view as an immediate impact but not what I had in mind.

Lol Zero I think you're reading into too much. Kidwell wants to make an impact. He hasn't made any big boy claims or stated anything in the media that I know of....

So if we lose, we lose. We've actually won 3 of the last 4 so I can't see him trying anything too out of the ordinary. Yes, he'll want to make an impact but largely, he's inheriting a successful team who have a few key personnel missing. It could go either way, but I don't think we're gunna be seeing anything too dramatic in the name of David Kidwell on Saturday night

Well its reading properly and COMPREHENDING that some of us CLEARLY struggle with *ahem*. As I've proven, you've...misred what I said earlier and thats ok. Some of us cant bare to be corrected, rather just put a "lol" there and "say youre reading too much into it" completely missing the point.

As I provided with that article which I dont think youve red, you will see what Im talking about.

Kiwis

Genuine centres as in someone who plays the position, Stevie Wonder would see that Beale is better than Tohu Harris marking Greg Inglis

Sick of seeing test matches without the strongest available side on the park

I think Takairangi or Simona would be better than Beale. We had Beale before and Darius Boyd powered over him for a try, he held Boyd in good position too. Beale also failed to spark anything in attack. We also got Kata and Kahu there who Id prefer over Beale but we'll have to see where Kidwell places him. Agree with Kearneys dumb idea of playing players out of position as was the Harris case.

The strongest side is subjective but most that know league will come up with a good side. All the posters here, will put up a good side and a side THEY deem to be the strongest. In this case, Kidwell sees eye to eye with you. Its a good team barring a few players IMO.

I thought you were a Kangaroos fan.

Passive - aggressive lol. They're opposites, learn their meanings because youve used it in an oxy moron type sentence lol.

Resorting to insults Villa are we lol. I'll walk away like the bigger man. I dont know the symptoms of "small man syndrome" but obviously you familiar with them *ahem* buhahaha.

If Im wrong, I just be the bigger man about and admit to it. You were wrong and now youre upset which is clear by you changing the subject and resorting to insults. You CLEARLY failed to comprehend and now your resort to insults lol. Comeback Villa, where you going? I dont have to get away from the subject like you have. Stick to the subject haha. Angry guy.

Haha what? Surely you've heard people use the term passive aggressive? Not sure if your serious....

I didn't think I was being insulting, you just get on the offensive and USE big words to TRY and get your point across and USE a few lols to undermine the other person. But hey I genuinely find you a funny poster and enjoy the banter with you, even if you don't always get it ;)
