That try was Cherringtons fault not cook, what? Fensom literally ran straight at Cherrington and he couldn't handle it. It was so obvious they were gonna target Cherrington too he had his hands on his knees.
I know that the initial miss was cherrington, hence why is said playing a debut in Townsville heat may not of been the best thing. Hindsight... but when cook got to fensom, fensom literally drags him over the line. That type of defence from a hooker on your tryline is ordinary.

The Farah/cook combo seems to work better. Most times when Farah starts we'll finish the half with points on the board. Doesn't seem that way with cook. Like I said he's got great speed and certainly a big heart (50+ tackles?) but simple passes at the line are panicky and misguided. He's potentcy is better suited to back end of halves around tired forwards.

I honestly feel like cook is getting unwarranted hate because of the poor performance of our backs to put points on the board. It's simple footy that you don't throw into support runners and don't give it to a prop on 5th tackle. You don't give the opposition constant 20m restarts, you don't kick the ball straight to Thurston, you don't f**king run into your support runner. If Farah started tonight we still would of lost because of our execution in attack. I really hope that at training we focus on our combinations because right now we have two try scoring opportunities. Walkers short ball to Sutton and Reynolds kicking game.

See here's the thing. If I genuinely hated him, I'd being calling him a dud and acting like one of the other assholes on here. But I don't, I see potential with him coming off the bench. I think the team and halves are more cohesive with Farah starting. Our halves were ordinary. I gave Walker 3 because when he ran the ball it seemed like the only way we would score. I hope you're right and they train more combos!

Cook has a lot of Chris Sandow about him. Many Souths fan (and i'll even admit to being on of them at the time) thought Sandow was one of the elite halfbacks. He was exciting, he played with passion, he tried hard and he was very flashy. But it's the little things that let him down

Cook was great. All the hate is completely unwarranted.

I believe Madge will start Cook again next week at 9.

Cook wasn't panicky or anything. He was trying to create and looked calm.

it makes sense. Farah trains extremely hard. It wouldn't surprise me if he had nerve damage. In fact I'm sure a lot
of league players have nerve damage. The physical heights they put their body against is outstanding.

Apparently the cap could only be going up 1.8 mill. This is a lot less than some clubs are expecting and if true, some clubs will have to offload players to fit under the cap.

Sandow is an elite half back. But only one game at a time he had some great game for wire last year but some very very ordinary ones also.
I feel his offield issues will prevent him from ever living up to his potential.

Considering we've signed some of our big names to long term deals we could be one of them.

Yeah but a lot of our players are already signed for next year which means we might be able to make a big signing.

Not really because these players knew this was coming and won't have signed deals without a pay rise for next season. We're not just going to have a big lump sum to suddenly splash. It doesn't work like that.

It depends how much Souths predicted the cap to rise. If they planned for it rising $2 million and it actually rises $3 million then we might be able to make a big signing.

Maybe but don't forget a $1m player under that structure will not be of the same caliber as a $1m player under the current one.
This increase isn't to allow teams to sign better players but to allow the game to fend off other codes.
Essentially the 16 teams are still competing for the same pool of players. The increase in money may allow for more poms to be enticed to these shores but that's about the only difference we can expect.
