How is carter a bad buy? Do you guys not remember his 2016 form before he got into trouble? He was a starting second rower for us because his ball running was extremely dangerous. Now let me think how many dangerous ball runners do we have..? ... 3? Sutton, Crichton and Surgess? He's also not expensive at all and has a high workrate. When he first came into grade he was instantly noticed. I know we're not going to get him back but he has the potential to be a great player.

His ability isn't what's in question, nor is it why clubs keep tearing up his contracts

Didn't Carter show up to training drunk?

The rumour on twitter is that Carter was with SKD the night he landed himself in trouble.

No thanks

Yeah I get that. His a player that needs a strict leash. You can just feel that his gonna be one of those players that if he can turn his life around will be a star. Sucks that it's Souths that had to miss out on him. It's James Roberts all over again.

There's no way we would take Carter back.
He's a good little player on the field but it's his off-field playing that rules him out. Shame, such talent wasted!!
We need to be in the market for a No. 9 as this area is starting to show as a definite weakness!!

I'd be somehow getting rid of both Farah & Cook & seeking an established, highly qualified hooker from our comp or the ESL to act as a mentor for Phoenix Hunt!!
Would be terrific to entice Peats back but that would be difficult as he was badly treated by us,IMO!!

Maloney is under contract for next year. No reason why Sharks would release him , for more money? That is not a good enough reason. Simple , Sharks say , play out your contract and then you can go when you want.

We did not release Goodwin either when he was offered more money elsewhere.
We released Luke because he raised family and a returning to his home country NZ.Yes he was offered more money as well , however i am sure that was not the thrust of the request.
Same with Sam , his release was not about the $$ he was going to get , he raised the aspiration to play for England Union in World cup , a dream.
Tigers's Moses should never have been released mid year , however appears Moses tackling showed more deficiencies after his initial release request was rejected. The Tigers shambolicly released him versus showing him reserve grade to help him find his form again. Broncos have just showed $6m Hunt reserve grade due to form and he has not even asked for a release.

Forget about Maloney , i think he would be getting too old next year , definitely not worth reported money for 2019.

Players that aren't happy sometimes don't play well and cost their club some wins. ;)
