Was reading about the squad selection process for Samoa. Coach Matt Parish said the both AU and NZ get to pick the eyes out of the available players and then Samoa gets what is left.

Does not sit right with me. Think that the WC should be based on heritage rather than to who you have declared your allegiance. Lets face it half the merkins who could play for their country of heritage have put their hands up to be available for NSW or QLD or AU bc of the $20/30/40/50k per game carrot.

What's wrong with that squad?
What's wrong is that about half of them could be replaced by thirty other eligible players who are just as good, but instead they are sticking with players from clubs already full of rep players. So the fringe players from these clubs get more valuable rep experience while similar players at weaker clubs miss out.

Theres probably a few unlucky ones but otherwise its a strong squad. I knew Mal would be loyal to the Australian team.

Tigers, Bulldogs, and Knights get reps, but Parra get none, after finishing fourth?

Seems legit...
