State of Origin team already picked... Ricketson on Tupou

Anyone else hear Luke Ricketson on 2UE news this afternoon. He was saying people shouldn't just concentrate on Sonny Bill Williams, because Tupou from the Roosters was going to be just as good. Something along the lines of, "He'll be in the rep teams soon. Definitely on track for an Origin bench spot this year." He sounded more than confident that he'd be proved right.

Well, who is the coach?

Sonny Bill can't play origin anyway, whats the big deal?

Tupou however is good enough IMO, and even though now, even I will say coach would be the reason at this time, Tupou's form this season will warrant him selection.

He deserves it if he keeps up his form. Why can't Ricketson comment on such matters?

Please, there is no conspiracy thory.

Ricketson should shut up. Not that he's said anything wrong in this case, but he should just shut up in general

Well then who would Tupou be replacing from last years Origin. Ryan, Mason and Fitzgibbon would have to drop their form if Tupou was to get in the team.

Ricky Stuart saying that Brett Finch will be one of the front runners for the NSW 5/8 spot is more of a concern.

With Young being appointed as the 'hard man' of the NSW camp & Daley now a selector, Thompson should finally get the Origin spot he deserves

Talk about nepotism! not that I care for the NSW side but depending on his form in the first half of the season Scott Hill should be given first crack at #6 for NSW! Now that Fittler is out of the picture and barrett keeps on falling on his arse its about time a decent 5/8, not a stop gap, got a shot!

If daddy's boy Finch was still at the Raiders he wouldnt even be mentioned come Origin time!

Tupou will get a run for the St.George Rooster Blues this year. I just feel sorry for Brent Kite who has kissed his Rep career goodbye!!

Scott Hill shouldve been picked for NSW last year, but obviously Gould wanted someone who either played for St. George or Roosters.

Yeah sure ok. And in the previous years where Scott "over the" Hill WAS selected, he did NOTHING anyway.

Tupou would be selected for NSW
a) if he continues last years form
b) even if he was at another team anyway.

Sometimes it bothers me how little the rugby league public knows about the game, other THAN THEIR OWN TEAM. Anyone who thinks a kid like Tupou wouldnt deserve selection has proved how much they know about the game.

Scott Hill should not play origin in any form.

Preston Campbell has more talent in his left foot.

5/8 will come down to:

Trent Barrett - If Fit
Shaun Timmins - If Fit
Brett Finch

That'll be all who would be actually considered.

selection will prove it.

Barrett could be out for 10 weeks, play for one week and get selected..........Based on form.

Sh!t, most teams are saying similar things about someone or rather.

No major news there at all.

unless theres injuries to a few players like ryan, fitzgibbon, kennedy and timmins i dont think tupou is good enough to play origin yet, although you dont necessarily need to be a great player to play origin if you're a rooster. eg, brett finch.....
