Cracking day on saturday. Fields are great

Notice cliffs edge is running in the mckinnon.

Has been beating walkers and shows up in a group 1 wfa race against some seasoned combatants alot of whom like to race on speed.

Cant see it beating the ambulance home tbh.

I wondered where the Mackinnon disappeared to. Used to run on Derby Day before the Cup.

Can't wait for the Sandown Cup AKA The Zipping Stakes on Saturday after next.

Usually won by Melbourne Cup failures or horses that didn't make the grade.

In saying that, the 1986 winner Pharostan was my last winner in this plodfest.

Yeh I can''t believe its so high up in the market.. It will give a bit of cheek with the light weigh but I give it no chance of winning

At this stage I'm backing Cliffs Edge and Gingernuts
A worthy inclusion into the "Weird, Interesting and Funny Racehorse Names" thread.

Except the f**king thing is a gelding! Do the owners have its nuts somewhere in a glass jar filled with formalin?

They could have called it Red Balls. And since I was born on the Horse's Birthday (1 August), you can call me Blue Balls.....

Honestly.

Here you go lemons might be able to pay you back a couple winners Bris race 6 no 2. First stimulus 50-1 trainer told me to back it last start at caloundra at 40’s. missed start by 3 lengths, 3 lengths last all way and last 100 came home like train for 3rd. Straight to Brisbane tomorrow I got a bonus bet of$50 on it not saying it will win but.......anyway if it jags a win I Mark Read. If it looses I’m still a mug

Only had a quick look but Cliff's Edge looks very very hard to beat, with the scratchings of Tom Melbourne and Sir Isaac Plod there doesn't look like any pests can challenge him up front, with an easy lead he has the chance to do what Side Glance,Glass Harmonium and Gailo Chop have done in recent times in this race and lead all the way.

Better 3 yr olds have tried and failed to win it.

I could be wrong but from the top of my head the only other 3 year old who ran in this race in recent times who had the same front running style as Cliff's Edge was Casual Pass and he won

I can't think of any other front running 3 year olds to have run in this race lately

The Mackinnon Stakes is a race you can sneak from the front with an easy lead(Desert War,Casual Pass,Glass Harmonium,Side Glance,Gailo Chop etc etc)

Its not a cup lead up anymore so cliffs unlikely to get an easy time. Folkswood, gailo chop, samovare and odeon are all horses who want to be right up there.

Should be plenty of pressure
